While you are in Tibet, there are many Tibetan monasteries and temples that you can visit. The most famous is the Potala Palace located in Lhasa. The Potala Palace was built in the 7th century and served as the winter palace for the Dalai Lama and his government. It is now a museum and part of the World Heritage Site.
