Day 1 : (Wednesday) Madrid-Trujillo-Lisbon (658 Kms)

Location: Lisbon, Trujillo, Madrid

Departure from our bus terminal at 8:00 a.m. towards the region of Extremadura and arrival to Trujillo, birth place of
Spanish conquerors. Time free to know its beautiful and monu­ mental Plaza Mayor. Continuation to cross the Portuguese bor­ der and arrival to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal located at the mouth of river Tagus. . Optional night tour to attend a show of Fado, typical Portuguese songs and music.

Morning city sightseeing tour, including María Luisa Park, Plaza de España, the exterior of the city’s stunning Cathedral and its bell tower, called Giralda and the typical neighbourhood of Santa Cruz with its streets, squares and narrow alleys. If you wish, you can optionally navigate the Guadalquivir river, during which you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Gold Tower and Expo 92, or visit to the Maestranza bullring. It was well planned. The guide was informed and friendly and the pace was comfortable. The only drawback was the hot weather but they didn’t have control of that. Good trip.

Carlos is very entertaining and the trip was good overall. As a guide, Carlos was both good at sharing some of the historical aspect of Segovia and Avila, and also some of the modern information. Carlos very interactive, personable, breaking up the conversation with many of us on the tour. He was entertaining to a teenager in informational to us on history and culture. Well done!

Excellent tour. Plenty of time in Segovia, partly led by tour guide and partly own time for exploring and lunch. Not as much time in Avila, but still enough time for a good over view. Henrique was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable. Would have liked a bit more time in Avila to walk on the walls, but its a very full on and busy tour, so that wouldve made it longer. Recommended.
