Day 1 : Arrive Dalaman, Transfer To Kayakoy

Location: Kayakoy

Accommodation Name: small hotel/pension

On arrival at Dalaman Airport you will be met and transferred to Kayakoy, originally named “Karmilassos”; described by the UNESCO as a world friendship and peace village. Here you will spend the night in a lovely and charming small hotel/pension.
Transfer time: 1 hr; transfer distance: 60 km

Day 2 : Walk To The Abandoned Greek Village Of Karmilassos And Hisaronu Via Beach (3Hrs)

Location: Oludeniz

Accommodation Name: small family run hotel

In the morning your first trek takes you to the ruins of the old Greek village of Karmilassos, given up at the end of the World War I. Today this timeless place, set in a lush valley surrounded by forests and with some vineyards nearby, is known as a kind of ghost town. You will walk through its empty streets, along its ruined stone houses and can take time to visit one of its churches, whilst enjoying the village’s air of mystery and surreal atmosphere.
Afterwards a forest path, with splendid panoramic views to the turquoise water , leads you directly down to Oludeniz lagoon, one of the most photographed beaches on the Mediterranean. The amazing lagoon with its secluded sandy bay is a national nature reserve; famous for its shades of turquoise and aquamarine, Oludeniz is an official blue flag beach and frequently rated among the top five beaches in the world by travellers and tourism journals alike.
You can spend the afternoon at the beach, before continuing to your accommodation in Hisaronu/Ovacik village. Your accommodation is 3 km from the beach; you can walk this part along the main road, or take a ‘Dolmush’ (small public village bus), usually departs until 18:00 h every 30 minutes from the beach to Hisaronu/Ovacik village.
The village itself is located in the countryside and known as one of the liveliest resorts in the area, famous for its cool breezes and beautiful mountain views. Here you spend the night in a small family run hotel.

Day 3 : Walk From The Southern Slopes Of Babadag Mountain To Faralya Village (6-7Hrs)

Location: Faralya

Accommodation Name: family run pension

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast you will start your walk directly from your overnight accommodation; an asphalt road takes you to the trailhead point of the Lycian way. From the south foot of Babadag Mountain (1.969m) you walk along the coastal side and follow a small path with a beautiful panoramic view over the deep blue bay of Oludeniz. Your walk takes you along sheep camps to some small and authentic villages of the Mediterranean area. Over stabilized gravel roads you pass small Kozagac village and continue your walk to Kirme, where you pick up a small walking path again leading you to beautiful Faralya village, where you spend the night at a nice family run pension.

Day 4 : Walk Via Butterfly Valley To Aktas (4-5Hrs)

Location: Faralya

Accommodation Name: family run pension

This morning you begin your walk near Faralya village where you enter into a small walking path which takes you, after a small climb, to a magnificent panoramic view over Butterfly valley, a large canyon considered to be one of the most picturesque places along the Lycian coast. On small paths you continue your walk whilst enjoying the beautiful views to the coast and bays around. In the early afternoon you will reach Aktas beach where it is possible to take time for lunch and a swim. Afterwards continue to Kabak village where a vehicle picks you up to transfer you back to Faralya where you spend the night.

Day 5 : Ascend Shepherds Trails To Alinca Village (5Hrs)

Location: Alinca

Accommodation Name: small local village guesthouse

In the morning a short transfer takes you back to Kabak village where another fabulous day of walking awaits you. A steep route takes you over old shepherd trails, along the slopes of Kabak and with spectacular views over the seven capes, to Alinca village. The beautiful village of Alinca sits perched on the slopes above sheer cliffs with amazing views to the turquoise and blue Mediterranean Sea down below. Here you will spend the night in a small local village guesthouse.

Day 6 : Walk Through Pine Forest To Gey Village (3Hrs)

Location: Gey

After breakfast you will take the asphalted road out of the village. Throughout your walk you will pass high above beautiful bays of this spectacular coastline, walk past oak trees and an old cistern; pass pine forests and fenced olive groves. At the end of your trek you arrive in Gey village, perched on a headland of ancient terraces. You spend the night at the village in a small family run village guesthouse.

Day 7 : Walk To Gavuragli, Transfer To Patara/Gelemis (6-7Hrs)

Location: Patara

Accommodation Name: small and charming family run pension

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Today’s route takes you from Gey village to Gavuragli via Bel, also known and described on way markers as Belcegiz. You first walk in a south-east direction, past the village of Bel and continue from there for a short while on a gravel walking path. Afterwards you reach an area with a long descent on rocky slopes to Gavuragli. The view around and to the blue Mediterranean Sea down below is breath taking. At the end of your trek a vehicle picks you up in Gavuragli (between 3-4pm) and transfers you to your overnight accommodation in Gelemis/Patara village. Here you spend your final night in a small and charming family run pension.

Day 8 : Transfer To Dalaman Airport, Trip Concludes

The walking is moderate (3) grade with daily walks of around 3-7 hours and distances of 6km to 13.5km daily with ascents of up to 750m. There are some steep sections over loose trails during the walk and such sections of the trail require care. The accent is on keeping a steady pace to with time to stop and take photos (subject to weather conditions). We provide detailed route notes and maps and our local partners are on hand throughout the day in the unlikely event that something goes wrong. All we request is that you select a program that matches your level of fitness to ensure that you have a comfortable experience.

  • I'm travelling solo on a self-guided trip. Do I pay the single supplement or the single traveller surcharge?

    Most of our self guided trips are priced based on twinshare. If you are travelling solo the single traveller surcharge will apply. The single supplement would apply if you were travelling in a party with others and you had chosen to book a single room. You would never pay a single traveller surcharge and a single supplement.
