Tour Overview
Trekking to Upper Mustang winds its way to the hidden Buddhist planate of the Kingdom of Mustang, also known as "Lo". The remote trans-Himalayan region borders Tibet and has a distinct Tibetan feel to it, Its people and culture, and in its arid mountain landscape of high cliffs and rocks of unusual formations and colors. During this trek, we visit Kagbeni, the main gateway to Upper Mustang, then trek through the landscape in the rain shadow of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massif to Lo-Manthang, the seat of past Kings of the Kingdom of Lo. Visit caves, rock paintings, monasteries, and gompa and you will have the opportunity to learn something about the culture of this region. Stunning views of Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and others, are very much part of this exciting trip! In Lo-Manthang, we will visit Namgyal Gompa and Tingkhar, the last main village in the northwest of the area, as well as the King’s palace.

Day 1 : Arrival In Kathmandu (1,350M) & Transfer To Hotel.

After you arrive at Tribhuwan International airport, Uma holidays Travels & Tours representative will pick up you and transfer to the hotel. You can freshen up and have a walk around Thamel. In the evening Uma holidays Travels & Tours representative will give some briefing about your Langtang trek and routes. Overnight at hotel inclusive Breakfast.
Day 2 : Drive From Kathmandu To Pokhara (8,50M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.

Today, We will drive to Pokhara right after breakfast and enjoy the scenic road trip along the bank of Trishuli River for 6-7 hours. Overnight at a hotel in the lakeside area.
Day 3 : Fly From Pokhara To Jomsom & Trek To Kagbeni (2,804 M) Duration: 4-5 Hours.

Today, early in the morning we take flight from Pokhara to Jomsom toward the great portal between the snow-capped peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. We will enjoy the well-raised massifs of more than 8000 meters, and the deepest gorge on this world. After arriving at Jomsom we will trek to Kagbeni.
Day 4 : Trek From Kagbeni To Chele (3,050M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

After breakfast at the hotel, We trek along the riverside of Kaligandaki. We will follow the gradual up and down sandy and windy trail offers to snatch charming natural sceneries. The first settlement that we visit today is Tangbe village. Barley, wheat, apple, and buckwheat are the main agricultural product of the Tangbe village. Then after we trek to Chhusang, cross a Kaligandaki river and then head towards Chele through a small ridge. overnight stay at the teahouse.
Day 5 : Trek From Chele To Geling (3,570M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

From Chele, we will climb up the steep trail, treeless, waterless terrain, along the side of the magnificent steep canyon to a pass and cairn of rock. The trail makes a long gradual descent to some chortens on a ridge, and with a further downhill before coming along a pleasant trail to Samar village. We will walk above Samar to a ridge, then trek down into a large gorge, which the path goes into another valley field, Then we will cross a small stream and climbs up to a ridge at 3800 meters. We will climb over yet another pass, follows a ridge, and then trek down to Shyangmochen. From here we gently climb to a pass at 3770 m and trek down to Geling Village for overnight stay.
Day 6 : Trek From Geling To Dhakmar (2,880M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

From Geling, we will start our walk by climbing up to Nyila. And then we need to trek down below the blue, gray, and red cliff to Ghaami Village- the biggest settlement of Upper Mustang. We will continue trek to Dhakmar through colorful cliffs and green scenery. After five hours' walk, we will be at Dhakmar. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 7 : Trek From Dhakmar To Charang (3,560M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

From Dhakmar, we will continue to trek across crossing a bridge of the Tangmar Chu (river) you will arrive at a MANI WALL perhaps the longest and most magnificent MANI wall in Nepal. Climbing over another pass at 3600meters, the route makes a long gentle descent to Tsarang village. The huge five-story white Dzong and red Gompa are the main attractions to visit and observe collections of statues and Thankas as well as many large paintings, of seated Buddha's.
Day 8 : Trek From Charang To Lo-Manthang (3,810M) Duration: 3-4 Hours.

From Charang, we will make our way to Lo-Mangthang. For the first part of the journey, we trek down to Charang Chu Canyon, cross the river, and then a steep climb up to Lo pass (3,850m). From this windy pass, we get down to reach Lo-Mangthang. Lo-Mangthang is a walled city made by ancient style. The place offers a spectacular view of Tilicho, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, and Bhrikuti peak. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 9 - Exploration Day At Lo-Manthang

After breakfast, we explore the Lo-Mangthang and is an acclimatization day also. We will explore Namgyal Gompa situated at the top of the hill. It is a popular monastery of this area and also the local court. Then after we go to the northwest village of Lo-Mangthang called Tingkhar. In the alternative, we can go Champa Lakhang “God house”, Thugchen Gompa, Chyaodi Gompa, and the four-story local king’s palace. Local people’s lifestyle and their typical traditions make us enter into the new world of human seniority. Overnight stay in Lo-Manthang.
Day 10 : Trek From Lo-Manthang To Dhakmar (3,820M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.

Leaving Lo-Mangthang, We return back to Dhakmar via a different route. The trek forwards to Drakmar on passing through Gyakar village. This village houses a more than 1200 years old Ghar Gompa, which is popular for its rock painting and as a wish-fulfilling divine place. We are recommended to trek in the morning due to dusty wind in the afternoon. We will spend our night at Dhakmar.
Day 11 : Trek From Dhakmar To Syangboce (3,800M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.

From Dhakmar, we start the walk with a cross series of large spurs. We cross Taklam La Pass 3624mtrs through a narrow path with a view of Tilicho Peak, Yaskawa Kang, Mt. Nilgiri, and Damodar Danda. This valley has dissected the trail and has cool streams and juniper trees to enable us to relax for a while. You can take your time and enjoy the walk then we will reach Syanboche after six hours of walk.
Day 12 : Trek From Syangbochen To Chhusang (2,980M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Leaving Syanbochen, we trek to Chhuksang to stop today. We will walk for about 5-6 hours on the wonderful land of amazing hills and mountain views. Overnight at a local teahouse.
Day 13 : Trek From Chhusang To Jomsom (2,720M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.
Location: Jomsom

Today is the last day of Upper Mustang trek. The trail goes through the village of Jharkot where we can visit the many attractions such as the Jharkot Gompa, Tibetan herbal medical center, and the old fortress of Jharkot which once served as palace. Then we will continue the trek towards Jomsom with enjoying the views of the Kaligandaki valley and Kagbeni village. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 14 : Fly From Jomsom To Pokhara (1350M) Duration: 20 Minutes Flight.
