Day 1 : Paro
Location: Paro

On arrival, you will be greeted by our guide. If your flight is in the morning or afternoon you will have some time for sightseeing in Paro. Visit the Rinpung Dzong meaning “fortress of the heap of jewels”. It has a long and fascinating history. Along the wooden galleries lining the courtyard of the Dzong are fine wall paintings illustrating Buddhist lore. You will walk downhill till the road point crossing the traditional wooden bridge. In the evening, you can stroll freely in Paro town. Walking around the market and meeting with people will be an enjoyable experience.
Day 2 : Tiger’S Nest Monastery Acclimatisation Hike
Location: Paro

After breakfast, hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, Bhutan’s most famous monastery, which stands at 3180m. The hike helps you acclimatize for the next days’ trek. The 8th century Spiritual Master, Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown on the back of a tigress to meditate in a cave where Taktsang Monastery now stands. It is perched on the edge of a steep cliff, about 900 meters above Paro Valley. Explore the Monastery and hike back to Paro.
Day 3 : Trek Paro To Jele Dzong
Location: Paro

After breakfast in your hotel, you will drive to the road head at the National Museum (2487m) from where you will start the trek. The trek trail is a gradual ascend till the camp through a forest of rhododendrons. If the weather is clear, Paro valley can be seen with snow-capped mountains behind including Jumolhari in the distance. Above the camp is Jele La Dzong (3,490m) and there is also a Lhakhang with the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni. Overnight camp at altitude 3480m
Day 4 : Trek Jele Dzong To Jangchulakha
Location: Paro
Accommodation Name: Accommodation in a camp near Jangchulakha
Today’s trek begins with an hour and half steep climb and then ascends gradually up. The trail takes you through thick alpine forests and rhododendrons crossing the Jele La pass at 3490m. You may see yak herders around your campsite. There are fascinating views of Jumolhari and other snow-capped mountains and you can also hear some Monal peasants during the day. Overnight camp at altitude 3770m.
Day 5 : Trek Jangchulakha To Jimilangtsho
Location: Jimilangtsho
Accommodation Name: Accommodation in a camp near Jimilangtsho
From camp, the path ascends to gain the ridge and then traverses along it, first one side and then the other. On a clear day, the views of the mountains and valleys are sensational. Descending from the pass you arrive at your camp beside the Jimilangtsho lakes. These lakes are famous for their giant sized trouts. Also, there are great views of 6,989m Jichu Drake, the peak representing the protective deity of Paro, and Gangkar Puensum (7497m), Bhutan’s highest mountain. Overnight camp at altitude 3870m.
Day 6 : Trek Jimilangtsho To Simkotra Tsho
Location: Simkotra Lake
Accommodation Name: Accommodation in a camp near Simkotra Lake
The trail climbs up from the lower end of the lake and makes a traverse along the side of the ridge, then descends to a single stone shelter. Again ascend to a summit at 4050m overlooking Janetsho Lake. Today you may come across some yak herder’s camp and get an idea of how these people live. The camp is close to Simkotra Lake. Overnight camp at altitude 4110m.
Day 7 : Trek Simkotra Tsho To Phajoding (Trek Ends); Drive To Thimphu
Location: Thimphu

Today you begin with a gradual climb and if the weather permits, you will enjoy a majestic view of Mount Gangkar Puensum, and also the other peaks. The trail slowly descends through junipers trees to a community hall near Phajoding (3800m). From Phajoding the trek to Thimphu is downhill all the way, passing through a forested area of mostly blue pine. Your car will be waiting to pick you up at the trek endpoint. On arrival, check into your hotel.
Day 8 : Thimphu Day Tour
Location: Thimphu

You will visit the King’s Memorial Chorten (dedicated to world peace and prosperity), the giant Buddha Statue at Kuenselphodrang overlooking Thimphu valley and the Folk Heritage Museum. In the afternoon, you can visit the traditional paper factory and the Tashichhodzong, the beautiful medieval fortress which houses most of the Government’s office and Kings’ Throne Room. If it is the weekend, you will head over to the weekend market where farmers come together to sell their farm produce.
At the Memorial Chorten, a white stupa in memory of King Jigme Singye Wangchuk, you can see Bhutanese from all walks of life doing their daily, ritual circumambulations. Very much worth a visit is the School of Thirteen Crafts, where young artists are taught the traditional (religious) art of Bhutan, as well as Buddha Point, where the largest gilded Buddha statue in the world is located. Overnight at a hotel in Thimphu.
Day 9 : Departure Or Optional Discovery Extensions
Location: Paro

After breakfast, you will be taken to Paro airport (1.5h). You can also book more nights in Thimphu or our extensions as detailed below (so this will be Day 1 of your chosen extension).

Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?
Accommodations in double or twin rooms (solo travellers are usually accommodated in single rooms at an extra cost; we never mix and match)

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
If possible, and entirely at the discretion of the Tour Operator, a change of the dates may be possible without charging an amendment fee, provided that it is requested at least 30 days before the departure date. In some cases, we will still have to pass to you any non-refundable charges imposed by our suppliers. In all other cases, change of dates will normally be treated as a cancellation.

The Natural Adventure requires a minimum deposit of 20% or the full booking value, whichever is less, with the final balance not due until 42 days before departure.

Cancellation Policy
We don't charge a cancellation fee, here is a summary of the natural adventure charges.
Up to 42 days before tour starts: Forfeit 100% of deposit.
At 30 days before tour starts: Forfeit 50% of booking price.
At 14 days before tour starts: Forfeit 100% of booking price.
