The daily contrast makes travelling here completely unique and – if done the right way – very ‘doable’ on a budget. Travel with us through major regions, top destinations, epic sites and off-the-beaten-track to discover countless hidden gems. Pack in all of Japan’s highlights in to two weeks at an affordable price. Travel by high speed bullet train, sleep in dorm rooms in hostels, sing your heart out at karaoke bars, stock up on sushi and sake, visit Tokyo’s quirky cafes and immerse yourself in Japanese culture. Day 1 : Tokyo Arrival & Sushi-Making Fun

Welcome to Tokyo! Get ready to kick off your epic adventure as you meet your Adventure Leader and fellow travelers at the hostel. After a fun intro and trip briefing, you’ll dive headfirst into Japanese culture with a sushi-making class! Learn from a master chef and roll your way to deliciousness as you create your own sushi dinner.
As night falls, prepare to be wowed by Tokyo’s sparkling skyline from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Feeling social? Head to a local bar for drinks and laughs with your new friends. First drink's on us, but remember: the drinking age in Japan is 20. Cheers!
Day 2 : Markets, Temples & Akihabara
Location: Tokyo

Start your morning off right with a visit to the bustling Tsukiji Outer Market, where you can sample some of the freshest sashimi Tokyo has to offer. It’s a sushi lover’s dream!
Next, step back in time as you explore the historic Sensō-Ji Temple in Asakusa. Wander Nakamise-dori, a street packed with tasty local snacks and souvenirs. Feeling adventurous? Grab a street snack or two – you won’t regret it!
In the afternoon, you’ve got options: get up close with sumo wrestlers at lunch, float along the Sumida River on a scenic cruise, or take in jaw-dropping views from Tokyo Skytree. It’s your time to explore!
Later, regroup and dive into Akihabara, Tokyo’s neon-lit mecca for anime, electronics, and all things quirky. And for something totally out there, try a “Maid in Tokyo” café, where waitresses in costumes serve with a side of cuteness.
The evening is yours to explore the city’s nightlife or hit up the shops in Ginza. Whatever you choose, Tokyo’s energy will keep you buzzing!
Day 3 : Shrines, Style & Shibuya

This morning, step into the peaceful oasis of Meiji Shrine, a tranquil spot dedicated to Emperor Meiji. Soak in the calm vibes before heading to Tokyo’s trendiest fashion district – Harajuku! Here, the streets are alive with bold fashion, quirky shops, and endless inspiration. Grab some lunch and embrace your inner fashionista!
After lunch, we’re off to the world-famous Shibuya Crossing – time to experience that iconic Tokyo hustle! Don’t forget to snap a selfie with the adorable Hachiko Statue before you head off on your own mini adventure.
For the thrill-seekers out there, Kartoon Karting is an unmissable chance to zoom through Tokyo’s streets in go-karts. Prebooking is essential at least 6 weeks ahead – don’t miss out!
The rest of the day is yours. Whether it’s exploring the magical digital art of TeamLab, enjoying the serenity of the Imperial Palace, or cruising through the city, Tokyo’s got something for everyone!
Day 4 : Fujikawaguchi & Majestic Mount Fuji Views
Location: Fujikawaguchiko, Tokyo

Rise and shine early – today’s all about Japan’s most iconic symbol, Mount Fuji! We’ll head to Fujikawaguchi for jaw-dropping views. First, take in the peaceful vibes at Arakurayama Sengen Park, home to one of Japan’s most picturesque shrines with Fuji as a backdrop.
After a short hike to Tenku no Torii (the Torii Gate by the Sky), get your camera ready for that postcard-perfect view of Mount Fuji. Next, stroll to Mother White’s Waterfall, where you’ll enjoy another stunning photo opportunity.
Afterwards, we’ll make our way back to Tokyo for your final night in this amazing city. Relax or grab a drink with your fellow travelers to toast Tokyo goodbye!
Day 5 : Kamakura’S Temples & Calligraphy Class
Location: Tokyo, Kamakura

Wave goodbye to Tokyo’s hustle and hop on a train to the beautiful, laid-back town of Kamakura. This charming city is packed with historical temples, and we’ll dive straight in after a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon, get creative with a calligraphy class in a peaceful local temple. Discover the ancient art of Japanese writing, and take home your very own piece of calligraphy as a unique souvenir!
The rest of the day is free for you to explore Kamakura’s sights. Whether you want to relax on the beach, visit the Great Buddha statue, or wander through Hokokuji Temple’s tranquil bamboo grove, Kamakura’s got plenty to offer!
Day 6 : Hakone
Location: Hakone

Say goodbye to the seaside vibes of Kamakura and hop on a series of trains and buses as we head to the mountain town of Hakone. Pack light today – we’ll be storing the big bags!
Once we arrive, lace up your hiking boots and explore the Old Tokaido Trail. After working up an appetite, enjoy lunch near Moto-Hakone before setting sail on… a pirate ship! That’s right – you’ll be cruising across the stunning waters of Lake Ashi aboard a pirate ship, with Mount Fuji looming in the background on clear days.
Afterwards, soar over Hakone on the Ropeway to Owakudani, an active volcanic zone famous for its black eggs, rumored to add seven years to your life.
Cap off your day by unwinding in a traditional Japanese onsen (hot spring). Soak in the steamy, sulfuric waters and let all your worries melt away! This onsen can even cater for travellers with tattoos. We'll spend the night in a traditional ryokan where you can experience sleeping on tatami mats!
Day 7 : Bullet Train To Kyoto
Location: Kyoto

Hop aboard your first bullet train as we zip from Hakone to the ancient city of Kyoto! After dropping your bags off, take a peaceful orientation walk along the Kamo River with your Adventure Leader – the perfect way to get acquainted with Kyoto.
The afternoon is all yours to explore. Whether you want to visit Nishihonganji Temple, stroll through Shosei-en Garden, or dive into Japanese culture at Sanjusangendo, Kyoto has something for everyone.
In the evening, we’ll head out for an optional karaoke night! Time to channel your inner pop star and sing your heart out with the group. Don’t worry, the karaoke comes with unlimited drinks.
Day 8 : Kyoto
Location: Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Kyoto
Accommodation: Hostel
You’ll start the day with a two-hour boat trip down the Hozugawa River. In a traditional wooden raft, driven by guides, you’ll cruise through rocky ravines and experience the rush of rapids as you meander through the Arashiyama Hills. Later, you’ll head across to the Arashiyama Monkey Park. It’s a tough climb up, but at the top, you can feed monkeys or simply enjoy the panorama of Kyoto below.
After, you’ll visit the Tenryu-Ji Temple, one of the most important Zen temples. With this, you’ll walk around the temple’s gardens, that were designed in the 14th century and are a real show-stopper. Finally, you’ll hike through Arashiyama’s famous Bamboo Forest.
End the afternoon with a Japanese calligraphy lesson lesson from a master.
In the evening, let your hair down and enjoy some Japanese karaoke with the rest of your group!
Day 9 : Head To Nara Famous Bowing Deers
Location: Nara, Kyoto
Accommodation: Hostel
Today, we’re off to Nara for a half-day adventure! Visit the awe-inspiring Todaiji Temple, home to one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in the world. As you explore Nara Park, don’t be surprised if friendly deer come up to greet you – they’re known to bow for treats!
Afterwards, enjoy some free time for lunch before heading back to Kyoto.
The rest of the day is yours! Whether you want to visit the bamboo groves of Arashiyama, rent a kimono and stroll through the streets, or check out the Pokémon Center for some unique shopping, Kyoto has endless possibilities.
Day 10 : Meditation In A Zen Temple, Kyoto Cycling Trip & Travel To Hiroshima
Location: Kyoto, Hiroshima

Get ready for an active morning as we hop on bikes and cycle through Kyoto like a local! Our first stop is a Zen temple, where you’ll find inner peace through meditation led by a Buddhist monk.
After a refreshing meditation, enjoy a quick lunch before visiting the stunning Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-Ji), one of Kyoto’s most iconic sights.
In the afternoon, cycle to the Kyoto Imperial Palace for a final dose of Kyoto’s rich history.
Later, board the bullet train to Hiroshima, where we’ll settle in for the night. In the evening, join the group for an optional dinner at Okonomiyaki Village, where you can watch the chef prepare this savory Japanese pancake right in front of you!
Day 11 : Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum & Miyajima Island
Location: Hiroshima, Itsukushima

This morning, visit the deeply moving Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum & Atomic Bomb Dome. Learn about the city’s tragic history and resilience as you explore the exhibits.
Next, we’ll hop on a ferry to Miyajima Island, where the iconic Itsukushima Shrine awaits. Marvel at the massive torii gate rising from the sea – at low tide, you can even walk up to it!
After lunch,take a scenic walk to the Miyajima Ropeway for stunning views of the island.
The evening is yours to relax back in Hiroshima.
Day 12 : Explore Shinsaibashi & Shinsekai In Osaka
Location: Osaka

All aboard the bullet train as we make our way to Osaka, Japan’s lively food capital. After dropping off your bags, we’ll take a quick walk through the buzzing Shinsaibashi area, which is perfect for lunch and exploring.
In the afternoon, enjoy some free time to discover Osaka’s many delights. Visit the historic Osaka Castle, shop till you drop in Umeda, or check out the National Museum.
Later, we’ll reunite for a final farewell dinner in Shinsekai, a retro district known for its nostalgic charm and neon lights. After dinner, snap a photo with the famous Running Man sign and toast to the end of an incredible adventure with one last drink.
Day 13 : Sayonara Osaka!
Location: Osaka
Today marks the end of your journey in Osaka. Take the morning to say your goodbyes and reflect on the amazing adventures you've shared. Whether you’re heading home or onto your next destination, we hope you love every minute of your Japanese adventure!

Majority of our clients are solo travellers and our prices are based on sharing in dorm style rooms. We do offer single room upgrades for those who do not wish to share a room.

We always strive to ensure the highest level of comfort and convenience for our valued clients during their travels with us. However, for our tours in Asia, we cannot guarantee same-sex dorm rooms in the hostels we use, particularly during high season, such as the cherry blossom season in Japan. Please rest assured that we do our utmost to accommodate our clients' preferences wherever possible. However, the availability of same-sex dorm rooms ultimately depends on the policies of the hostels we work with. In some cases, different genders may be allocated to the same room due to limited availability.

For most destinations we will require the details to be submitted on our online form (the link for which will be provided post-booking and prior to your travel date). Please note that this needs to be complete & accurate to avoid any late update fees for accommodation and transport bookings. IMPORTANT NOTE: China tours is the only destination where we require an actual copy of your passport. We require these in order to book travel tickets for clients and passports are used during the check-in.

Why do the tours have an age range?
While we strive to cater to a diverse range of travellers, it is important to consider whether the tour aligns with your expectations and preferences. We want your travel experience to be enjoyable and fulfilling, and we believe that selecting a tour that matches your age group and interests is crucial in achieving that. Our tours are very active and jam-packed, including early starts and getting on and off local transportation. There will be a lot of walking, and activities such as cycling. You could be walking up to 20,000 steps per day!

Who will be my travelling companions on the tour?
Our tours are aimed at fun, out-going and open minded individuals. We typically get people aged between 18 to 55 travelling on our trips. Feel free to contact us to see the ages of the people who are booked already. Some of our trips have an upper age limit because of the pace of the tour, style of accommodation and the average age of the group - please do not be offended if we check your age and perhaps recommend a different itinerary. Our premium trips are suitable for most.
