The Ruby Valley trek is one of the best-kept trekking secrets in central Nepal! This hidden valley trail, an amazing view can be seen from 3,850 meters from Pangsang pass. Ruby Valley trek also offers an authentic cultural experience of several ethnicities of the region Like; Gurung, Tamang, Ghale, and Kami. The villages experience, the beautiful farm terraces, and each day lives of the local people in the hills of the Mountains. The Ruby Valley trek starts after driving from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi. The trek passes through foothills and lowland farm terraces to ethnic Tamang villages atGatlang, which used to be on the ancient salt trade route between Nepal and Tibet. Along with the route, the trek offers amazing close-up views of Mt. Ganesh Himal, Mt. Langtang, BouddhaHimal, Hiunchuli, and other High Himalaya Peaks. The highest altitude on our trek is the Pangsang pass at 3850 meters and it is one of the finest viewpoints on tour trip. Day 1 : Arrival In Kathmandu (1,350M) & Transfer To Hotel.

You will be taken to a hotel where our team members will guide you about the Langtang Valley trek and prepare you for the next day. All the vital information and plans will be discussed and shared. The first day you will spend in Thamel Kathmandu.
Day 2 - Explore Kathmandu City And Trek Preparation Day

After having breakfast in the morning, 8:00 am Sherpa Expedition and Trekking City tour guide takes you to a sightseeing trip begins and takes you to several cultural sites and places of historic interest in the Kathmandu Valley. A private car and guide will lead the way!
Day 3 : Drive From Kathmandu To Syabrubesi (1,460M) 7-8 Hours.

Today, after early morning breakfast, the drive to Syabrubesi begins. We head out of Kathmandu to the highway, heading towards the north along the main valley road. We will come across many beautiful views of the small villages, rivers, terraced fields, and snowcapped mountains if the sky is clear. The drives take you to a little busy town called Dhunche. While we passing along the road at the bank of Trishuli river, you will catch glimpse of Mount Ganesh Himal, terraces, and greenery hills. Crossing through Dhunche will make us feel as though we are heading towards deep land. Then continue the drive, we will reach at Syabrubesi with many things to explore and a riverside natural hot spring. We will stay in Syabrubesi at the hotel.
Day 4 : Trek From Syabrubesi To Gatlang (2340M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

After having breakfast, We will start our trek from Syabrubesi to following the path that leads through the new valley road to Chilime valley. From Chilime we will turn left and head west on a good trail towards Thambuchet and continue walking until we arrive at Gatlang. We stay overnight at Local Homestay.
Day 5 : Trek From Gatlang To Somdang (3280M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.
Location: Somdang
Accommodation: Hotel

After breakfast, from Somdang we will start our trek following the trail that leads to Parvati Kunda. From here we will trek through a dense forest filled with pine and rhododendron trees before hiking up to Khurpu Dada Pass altitude at 3710 meters. From here we will turn west and trek down all the way to Somdang. We stay overnight at local homestay.
Day 6 : Trek From Somdang To Tipling (2080M) Via Pasang La Pass (3842M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.

Leaving Somdang, we start our trek following the trail that climbs up through dense forest before traversing above a large Kharka that trek towards Pasang La Pass at 3842 meters where locals peoples have built a small gompa. From the pass, we will gradually trek down through terraced fields of Lawadun or the village of Tipling. We will stay overnight in Tipling at Local tea house.
Day 7 : Trek From Tipling To Shertung (1875M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.

Leaving Tipling we will trek down to cross over Adha river and start to climb towards the village of Shertung. Today will have the opportunity to see at the fertile river valleys. Shertung is a small village inhabited mainly by Tamang peoples. From Shertung we can see amazing views of Lapsang Karpo and Ganesh Himal range. We spend our overnight at a local teahouse.
Day 8 : Trek From Shertung To Chalish Gaon (1640M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.
Location: Chalise Gaon

After having breakfast, We will trek for about half an hour to reach Chalish Gaon. From here we will leave our stuff and take a walk to reach Tatopani (Hot spring) which means hot water/spring. Enjoy our day at the hygienic hot spring in one of the best hot water in this region. We will trek back to Chalish Gaon for the overnight stay.
Day 9 : Trek From Chalish To Jharlang (3020M) Duration: 5-6 Hours

Leaving Chalish Gaon, We will start our trek following the trail that passes through Mani Danda. From Mani Danda we can see great views of Ganesh Himal Range. Then after we trek passes through Deul danda, Gobre village, Chhap danda and Bandari Bhir. Rock climbing has gained more popularity in recent years around this area. We will following the trail that passes through Lishne jungle and Chhapchyat village and arrives at Jurlang. We will stay overnight at Jharlang.
Day 10 : Trek From Jharlang To Darkha Gaon (850M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.
Location: Darkha Gaon

From Jharlang, After breakfast, we will start our trek gradually descend down to Jharlang Phedi while passing along terraced fields with amazing landscapes. Then after we will cross several suspension bridges continue on the trail that leads to Darkha Gaon. People from different tribe communities reside in Darkha village. We will stay overnight at local teahouse.
Day 11 : Trek From Darkha Gaon To Dhading Besi & Drive Back To Kathmandu; Duration: 8-9 Hours.

Leaving Darkha, We start our trek following the trail that descends all the way down to Darkha Phedi. From Phedi, we will take a local jeep and drive over the bumpy roads to reach Dhading Besi. After arriving at Dhading Besi we will take another Bus drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 12 : Transfer To International Airport For Your Final Departure.
Location: Tribhuvan International Airport

Ruby Valley trek is a moderate trek that is doable by everyone with a basic health physical fitness. No technical training or previous trekking experience is required for this trek.

What problems can arise on high altitude?
Our itinerary has been specially tailored to prevent any kind of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) while moving up to higher altitudes. Normally, altitude sickness starts from 3,600 meters and above. You will be trekking at a relatively slow and gradual pace as part of the acclimatization process. Cut off caffeinated, alcoholic and smoking items. Drink at least 4 liters of water a day. Trek slow. Don't skip the acclimatization days. Better to continue with Diamox (if any symptoms show up). Drink Garlic Soup. In the higher elevation, there is less oxygen in the air and this is more so while crossing high passes. Our expert guides will advise you on how to avoid AMS and treat it when/ if required.
