The Lower Dolpo Trek is a great opportunity for visitors wanting to explore the very remote, wild, magical, and mysterious land of Dolpo Region. This place is located in the northwestern Himalayan area of Nepal, Dolpo is the territory of the world’s natural hidden wonders. Dolpo is exploring of rich wildlife, ancient and isolated villages with distinctive Bon-Po religion surely offers a life-changing experience to keen visitors. The Lower Dolpo Trek also offers the excursion over Nepal’s largest National Park – Shey Phoksundo National Park 3,555 km2. The Shey Phoksundo National park is home to many species of endangered wild animals including Musk Deer, Barking deer, Himalayan Thar, Blue Sheep, and the exclusive Snow Leopard. moreover, we will explore the beautiful cobalt blue Shey-Phoksundo Lake. During our Lower Dolpo trek, we walk through the beautiful rain shadow landscape of the Mountains with a stunning combination of light and shadows. Lower Dolpo Trek with Sherpa Expedition and Trekking starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj which is a southern town city in the western part of Nepal. Leaving Nepalgunj, we take another short flight to reach Jhupal at the lower Dolpo region which is our trek starting point. From here, we begin our journey trek by following the route that leads to Dunai. Dunai is the administrative center as well as the main trading center of Dolpo region. We will trek to follow the paths for some days, passing through several Buddhist traditional and cultural villages and crossing high Himalayan passes to arrive Ringmo. Ringmo is truly a beautiful place to spend a rest day. The deep cobalt blue water of Phoksundo Lake and the high mountain peaks of Kanjiroba mountains range truly make our Ringmo visit worthwhile. The remote village of Ringmo and its Buddhist Monastery attracts trekkers from all over the earth. After visiting quality time at Ringmo we return back to our journey heads passing through Chepka towards the Juphal airstrip. Day 1 : Arrival In Kathmandu (1,300M) And Transfer To Hotel.

After your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. At outside the Airport Terminal, a representative of Sherpa Expedition and Trekking cordially receives you and transfers to a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu at Thamel, backpackers colorful market. In the afternoon, you will be taken to the Sherpa Expedition and Trekking office for a guide introduction and final brief trip information about the trek. In the evening, explore the tourist hub, Thamel.
Day 2 - Explore Kathmandu City And Trek Preparation Day

After having breakfast in the morning, 8:00 am Sherpa Expedition and Trekking City tour guide takes you to a sightseeing trip begins and takes you to several cultural sites and places of historic interest in the Kathmandu Valley. A private car and guide will lead the way!
Day 3 : Fly From Kathmandu To Nepalgunj (1,50M) Duration: 45 Minutes Flight.

After breakfast, We will board a plane on the day third. We will fly to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu (45 minutes). After a tiring day, we can spend the evening in our hotel or explore this vibrant city. We will stay overnight at Nepalgunj.
Day 4 : Fly To Juphal (2,400M) & Trek To Dunai (2,150M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Today From Nepalgunj we will take a short flight to Juphal, After arriving in Juphal, we will meet our trekking staff and trek through the green terraced fields along the Bheri River and through the narrow canyon. After 3 hours of walk, we will arrive at a large village in Dunai, where we spend our overnight.
Day 5 : Dunai To Tarakot (2850M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Leaving Tarakot, we will trek along the south bank of the river heading upstream on an easy trail. We continue to follow the path that goes through a tremendous gorge filled with pine trees and head towards an old fortress town of Tarakot. We will set our camp at Tarakot. Today trek will be six hours.
Day 6 : Tarakot To Khani Gaon (2543M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

After breakfast, we will trek follow the Tarap Chu River upstream and cross the same river twice before heading towards the terraced farmlands and rural village of Sahatera. Then after we will continue to trek down our journey with few climbs to arrive at our camping site at Khani Gaon. Today trek will be approximately six hours.
Day 7 : Khani Gaon To Tarap Khola (3450M) Duration: 4-5 Hours.

Leaving Khani Gaon, we will hike up to the gorge of Tarap River that rises high above on a path built on steep slopes. The trek is quite exciting as the valley becomes narrow gorge that provides unexpected adventure and thrills. We will continue to trek until we reach our camping site near Tarap Khola. We spend our night at Tarap Khola at the tent camp.
Day 8 : Tarap Khola To Yak Kharka (3800M) Duration: 4-5 Hours.

Leaving Tarap Khola, we will trek is pleasant and an easy way. we will follow the trail that goes through scenic landscapes. We will trek continues until we reach the good camping sites of Yak Kharka for our overnight camping. Today trek will be approximately five hours.
Day 9 : Yak Kharka To To Dho Tarap (4090M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Leaving yak Kharka, we will start our trek with a gradual climb towards Kamattarka at the confluence of Tarap Chu and Lang Khola. Rhen after, we will walk through the narrow gorge and entering the typical dry Himalayan valleys. After two hours of walking through juniper bushes and wild roses, we trek towards the village of Dho Tarap. We will set our tent at Dho Tarap for an overnight stay.
Day 10 - Rest And Acclimatization Day At Dho Tarap.

Today is our Rest day at Dho Tarap, Acclimatization is very important for avoiding mental and physical mountain sickness in higher altitudes. Besides, we can spend our day visiting Dho Tarap. This valley, both Bon Po and Chaiba sects reside together. Tarap is also inhabited by a few Tibetans and mostly Magars who have lived in this village for many generations. We will get the opportunity to explore a couple of Buddhists and Bon Po Gompa. We spend our overnight at Dho Tarap
Day 11 : Dho Tarap To Tokyu Gaun (4240M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Leaving Do Tarap, we will continue our trek towards the upper Tarap valley. We follow the trail that goes through the plain valley with lush verdant grass on both sides of the river. we Passing through several villages with cultivated fields of barley, buckwheat, and potato we will continue trek to reach the village of Tokyu. We will set our camp at Tokyu for overnight.
Day 12 : Tokyu Gaon To To Numa La Base Camp (4465M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Leaving Tokyu Gaon, We will trek the path gradually gain high altitude with a magnificent view of fascinating valleys. Today’s trek is more difficult and can be very tiring than other days. we will rest every hour and then which helps to restore energy. We will camp beneath Numa Base Camp. We will set our camp at Numa Base Camp for overnight.
Day 13 : Cross Numa La (5190M) & Trek To Numa La Phedi; Duration: 6-7 Hours.

After Breakfast, we will start our trek early in the morning the trail leads us for the crossing of Numa La pass at 5190 meters. We will trek a steep climb to reach the top of the Numa La pass. From the top of the pass, we can enjoy spectacular views of surrounding valleys and Himalayas including the north face of Dhaulagiri range along with other snow-capped peaks at a distance. We will trek down to the bottom to reach Phedi for overnight camping. Today we will walk for approximately six hours.
Day 14 : Cross Baga La Pass (5070M) & Trek To Phedi (4470M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.

After breakfast, early in the morning, we will start our trek with a steep climb to reach the ridge top of Baga La Pass at 5070 m. From the pass, we will see magnificent views of breathtaking valleys and Kanjirowa Himalayan Ranges. After spending some time at the top of the pass, we will trek down vigorously to reach our campsite at Phedi. Today trek will be approximately for six hours.
Day 15 : Baga La Phedi To Ringmo (3733M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.

Leaving Baga La Phedi, we will start our trek through pine forest and then enter the region of alpine vegetation with pasture grounds. We will trek to follow the trail with few ups and downs hills as we head towards Ringmo and the serene cobalt blue Lake of Phoksundo. We will stay overnight at Camp.
Day 16 - Exploration Day At Ringmo & Hike To Phoksundo Lake

Today, we have a rest and exploration day at Ringmo. We can visit nearby Tibetan Buddhist Monastery and wander around the village of Ringmo. A trek around the serene lake of Phoksundo is also worth spending a great day exploring. We will stay overnight at a tent.
Day 17 : Ringmo To Chepka (2838M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

leaving Ringmo, we will trek through the trail that walking along a massive overhanging rock. We will continue our trek that passes through several traditional and cultural villages before climbing uphill to the pasture fields of Chepka for overnight stay.
Day 18 : Chekpa To Jhupal (2475M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Today is the last day of our trekking, we will trek through the trail that climbs to a top of a ridge from where spectacular views of valleys and the high Himalayas can be seen. Jhupal is seen right below from the ridge. It is an easy trek to downhill all the way to reach Jhupal. We will spend our night at Juphal.
Day 19 : Fly To Kathmandu Via Nepalgunj From Juphal.

Today, after breakfast, We will board the two planes. We will fly from Nepalgunj (35 minutes) and from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu (45 minutes). After a tiring day, you can spend the evening at your hotel or visit this vibrant city.

Today is your last day in Nepal you will drive to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight departure. Sherpa Expedition and Trekking team will then share our goodbyes and wish you a safe flight back home. With this, the trip concludes and you come to an end of the Lower Dolpo Trek.

Sherpa Expedition & Trekking requires a minimum deposit of 30% or the full booking value, whichever is less, with the final balance not due until 30 days before departure.
