The Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek, Follows the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa on this 22-day Everest Base Camp trek via Jiri. Although off the tourist radar after most travelers started flying to Lukla from Kathmandu, "Classic Everest trek" offers a combination of amazing natural beauty and unique cultural experience as we trek through the scattered villages in mid-hills to enter the Khumbu Region. From Jiri to Everest Base Camp arduous journey to the top of the world starts, the contrast in elevation, types of vegetation, and a mix of local lifestyles are the main features of classic Everest trek. Sherpa Expedition and Trekking team will pick you up at the Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu upon arrival and transfer you to your respective hotel on the first day of your journey. Then after you will be a long drive to Shivalaya, the starting point of this trek. Take the path that goes to Namche Bazaar, traveling through Bhandar, Junbesi, Surke, and Phakding. From here, we will take the usual trek route to Everest Base Camp, walking through Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche to reach the final destination of the trek at Everest Base Camp. Then we return back our journey, in the meantime, ends in Lukla town, from where y we will take a short flight back to Kathmandu. Remember – The better prepared – the more enjoyable your trek! Day 1 : Arrival In Kathmandu (1,350M) & Transfer To Hotel.

Once you arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport Kathmandu, Sherpa Expedition and Trekking representatives will kindly receive you and take you to your hotel at Thamel, in a tourist vehicle. Sherpa representatives will brief you about the trip. After checking in the hotel you can take a rest or explore this vibrant and exciting city.
Day 2 - Kathmandu Around Kathmandu Valley & Trek Preparation.

Today after breakfast, We will start our sightseeing. A specialized tour guide and a comfy private car will be available for your assistance. Begining our sightseeing trip, we will visit the biggest Hindu temple of Nepal, Pashupati Nath Temple, which predates to Lichhavi period. Then after we will move to Boudha Nath, and Swayambhu Nath, shrines of lord Buddha, uniquely built-in Stupa style architecture. This evening we will be spent at Kathmandu Durbar Square, testimonial of middle-age architecture, and return back to the hotel.
Day 3 : Drive From Kathmandu To Shivalaya (1700M) Duration: 7-9 Hours.

Today, after breakfast, we will take a bus ride to Shivalaya via Araniko Highway. A scenic bus ride will be around 7-9 hours long. On our way, we can see the eastern Himalayas, including Mt. Langtang, Dorjee Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung. pretty but tad tiring bus ride up the valley of Sun Koshi, we will arrive Shivalaya after crossing many hills and river. Here is a beautiful riverbank small village was also known as the gateway to Mount Everest. We will spend the night at the local teahouse. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.
Day 4 : Trek From Shivalaya To Bhandar (2200M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

From Shivalaya, we will start our trek to continue the village of Bhandar. The route offers lovely scenery of the countryside, Lush farms, grazing cattle, and warm farmers will greet us on our trail up. We will trek through the scenic rhododendron and oak forests. On arriving Shivalaya, we will trek up again to Sangbadanada, continue trekking to Deurali Pass. Then after one house further trek down to reach Bhandara. We will spend our night at the Local teahouse.
Day 5 : Trek From To Sete (2645M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Leaving Bhandar, We will trek to downhill to Likhu Khola. Then after crossing the bridge at 1,570m, the zigzag trail will take us to the small beautiful village of Kinja. We will have lunch here, we will continue trek to steadily passing through lots of terrace fields and small settlements. Magnificent views of neighboring villages, terrace farming, and landscapes will keep us refreshed throughout the walk. Then after a few hours of walk, we will reach Sete, which is a small Sherpa settlement situated on the edge of the mystical rhododendron forest. After arriving Sete we will explore the local monasteries. We spend our night at the local teahouse.
Day 6 : Trek From Sete To Junbesi (2700M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.

Leaving Sete, we will continue to trek through the beautiful rhododendron, maple, and pine forests. Today we will walk 6-7 hours long, we will trek through the villages of Dagchu Goyem and Lamjura La Pass (3,520m) from the pass we can get a stunning view of the Himalayans. Then After we will reach the village of Junbesi. this evening we will explore around Junbesi village.
Day 7 : Trek From To Nunthala (2200M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.
Location: Nunthala

Leaving Junbesi, we will climb up the ridge elevation at 3,080m. Everest will begin to appear in the ridge. From here, the trail will lead to Phaplu and Salleri as well. From there we will continue trek to the Ringmo Khola at 2,650m tailed by a small day’s climb to Ringmo. Ringmo to Namche Bazaar trail was built in the 1980s to avoid the difficulty of the older trekking route. We will walk along with it to Trakshindo Pass (3,071m). Then, we will walk downhill to Nuntala (2,440m). We spend our night at the local teahouse.
Day 8 : Trek From Nunthala To Kharikhola (1985M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Today, after breakfast, we will continue to trek down alongside the milky Dudh Koshi river. Then we will continues trek upward through different Sherpa villages, terraced fields, and delightful forests. After that, we reach Khari Khola, in this evening we will visit the Kharikhola village. We will spend the night in a local teahouse.
Day 9 : Trek From To Surkhe (2290M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Leaving KhariKhola, we will hike up the steep hill to Bupsadanda, a small settlement on top of a ridge. From the top of the ridge, we will climb up to Bhumsing (2,300m). We will trek through oak and rhododendron forests and if we get lucky, we might have a glimpse of Langour Monkeys! We will have a lunch at Puiyan. After lunch, we will continue to trek a winding trail and then go downhill for some time to reach Surkhe. From here we can see view Lukla airstrip and Lukla town. We will spend the night at local teahouse.
Day 10 : Trek From Surke To Phakding (2610M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

From Surke, We will start our trek to uphill for an hour, followed by another ridge. We will pass through this tributary valley and hike north towards the village of ChauriKharka, passing this village, the trail also joins Lukla, making it a busy path. Then after a few hours of walk, we will reach Phakding and spend the night at Local teahouse.
Day 11 : Trek From Phakding To Namche Bazaar (3440M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

After having breakfast you will trek against the current of Dudh Koshi river, suspension bridges, pine forest, Bhotekoshi river, impressive view of Mt. Thamserku, and neighboring peaks are the goosebumps factors of this section. Form some points, you can see the window view of Mount Everest through Nuptse and Lhotse ridge. You will enjoy the exciting uphill walk and stay overnight in a local teahouse of Namche bazaar.

Today is acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. This will help your body to adapt to this high altitude and prevent any possible AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Day 13 : Trek From Namche To Tengboche (3860M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

After having breakfast we will head to Tengboche. Tengboche is one of the biggest and oldest Sherpa settlements in the Khumbu region. To get to this majestic village, you will be trekking through the bank of Dudh Koshi river, Imja Khola valley, and lush rhododendron and conifers forest. This area is a natural home of spotted dear, Pheasant (Nepal’s national bird), Himalayan Thar, and many endangered birds and animals. Tengboche has Tengboche Monastery which is considered to be located at the highest elevation (3,860m) in the world.we will stay at a local teahouse.
Day 14 : Trek From Tengboche To Dingboche (4410M) Duration: 4-5 Hours

Today is yet another exciting part of the journey as we trek with a close-up view of Mt. Ama Dablam (6,856m). People call it the most beautiful mountain in the world. You enjoy the view, see Mani walls, Nunnery and Chortens while passing through Debuche, Pangboche village, and the stream of Imja Khola. Your Sherpa guide will explain to you the values and believes of local religious monuments. You will stay in a local lodge of Dingboche.
Day 15 - Acclimatization Day At Dingboche

Today is the perfect scheduled destination included in the itinerary for acclimatization before ascending to the higher elevation above 4,000m. Today your guides arrange a short hike in Chhukung valley to adjust the AMS or thin air for next day trek. In the early morning, we trace the north ridge of Dingboche and climb the Nangkar Tshang Peak (5,616m/18,425ft). On the halfway to the peak, there is a popular Nangkar Tshang gompa which is the best spot for short rest and exploration. The short hike today offers the magnificent view of glorious mountains like Makalu (8,463m), Lhotse (8,516m), Cho Oyo (8,201m), and Ama Dablam (6,856mt). Finally, after the hike, we return back to Dingboche and enjoy the late sun in the summer valley. We will stay at Dingboche at the teahouse.
Day 16 : Trek From Dingboche To Lobuche (4,910M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

After having breakfast we trek for six-hour to reach Lobuche, the trail climbs up to Yak pastures of Dusa and Dughla villages and the terminal moraine of Khumbu glacier. Take a short, steep hike to Chukpo Lari, a memorial place made in tribute to climbers who have died on Everest. Enjoy a panoramic view of Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, Khumbutse, and many others. You will stay in Lobuche at teahouse.
Day 17 : Trek From Lobuche To Gorak Sherp-Everest Base Camp (5,364M) And Back To Gorak Shep (5,100M) Duration: 8-9 Hours.

Today is a very long day but a breathtaking day as you hike to Everest Base camp. The most iconic base camp in the world. Hike along the barren moraine of Khumbu Glacier until Gorak Shep; our night stay destination for tonight. We will settle our bags in a chosen lodge at Gorak Shep, take lunch, and continue for Everest Base Camp. The impressive visualization of towering peaks all over 360-degree is so unexplainable. If you are trekking in spring and autumn, you will see many camps of Everest climbers in Base Camp. Capture this immense beauty in your mind and camera. Walk around and return back to Gorak Shep for overnight stay.
Day 18 : Hike To Kalapattar (5550M) And Trek To Pheriche (4230M) Duration: 7-8 Hours.

Today, We’ll take an early morning hike to Kala Patthar (5,550m), the highest point of our trek. Kala Patthar gives another finest view of the highest mountains such as Mount Everest (8,848m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Nuptse (7861m), Mt. Cho-Oyu (8201m), Mt. Pumori (7145m) and many others. The changing color of mountains from pink to silver-white by morning sunlight is so beautiful. After you enjoy enough time there, we trek back to Gorakshep, take breakfast, and continue returning down to Pheriche. we will stay in Periche at the teahouse.
Day 19 : Trek From Pheriche To Namche Bazaar (3440M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.

After having breakfast, we will trek down along the glacial river and retrace the village Orso, then follow the west bank of Imja Khola to Somare. The path hereafter traces to Pangboche and drops down to Imja Khola before ascending to Debuche from where we take a short incline walk to the hilltop of Tengboche monasteries through dense rhododendron forest. Retracing the trail from Tengboche, the path finally descends to Phunki Thenga (3,250m) and then climbs a ridge to Sanasa fork from where the trail reasonably easier to Namche for today’s accommodation with hot shower. Namche is the perfect place to celebrate the triumph and accomplishment of the trek. You will stay in Namche at teahouse.
Day 20 : Trek From Namche To Lukla (2840M) Duration: 7-8 Hours.

Today after having breakfast we leave Namche, the trail takes steep descent route crossing a Hillary suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and through dense forest. The trail retraces the route of Sagarmatha National park up to Monjo and then takes a steep descent to Benkar, Ghat, and Cheplung with the wonderful vista of sparkling peaks on the background. Eventually from Cheplung, we ascend for more than an hour and reach our today final destination at Lukla. In this evening time, there may be a party atmosphere at Lukla. Enjoy the moment and celebrate with our trekking team. We will stay in Lukla at hotel.
Day 21 : Fly From Lukla To Kathmandu (1350M) Duration: 30 Minutes Flight.

We’ll take an early morning short flight back to Kathmandu. You can make your own plan for the rest of the day. We recommend walking around the city of Thamel and buy some handmade souvenirs. You will stay in Kathmandu at the 3-star hotel.

Today is your last day in Nepal you will drive to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight departure.
