Through Germany and into Austria to reach our hotel in the Austrian Tyrol for five nights.
Day 3 : Dec 23 Innsbruck
Location: Innsbruck
Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol boasts a stunning setting, surrounded by mountain scenery. Explore the city or to learn more about Innsbruck, and to take in even more of the splendid sights, join our optional guided walking tour. This will give us greater insight into Innsbruck’s history, and will allow us to tour more of the city. For instance, we can see sights such as the Rococo-style Helblinghaus and, opposite it, the iconic Goldenes Dachl, which many see as Innsbruck’s symbol. This building features thousands of fire-gilded copper tiles that account for its name, which can be translated as ‘Golden Roof’. It was built for Emperor Maximilian I when he married Bianca Maria Sforza in 1500.
Day 4 : Christmas Eve Salzburg
Location: Salzburg
Salzburg makes for an excellent excursion, where you'll have chance to look for some unique crafts and souvenirs, as well as sampling some of the tasty seasonal foods and drinks on offer. Enjoy the old town with its impressive fortress and cathedral, take time out to see the house where Mozart was born or relax in the Mirabell Gardens. There are numerous architectural styles to be found in Salzburg, including Romanesque, gothic, renaissance, baroque and many more modern styles. Whilst here, why not join our optional guided tour and see the best of the city. Tonight, we enjoy a traditional Austrian Christmas dinner.
