Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 2 : Sightseeing visit in Kathmandu

The sightseeing tour will take you to several UNESCO-listed World Heritage sites in Kathmandu, including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. Day 3 : Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,699 ft.)

We will pick you up early in the morning and take you to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu Airport. From there, we'll board a flight to Lukla Airport, located in the Khumbu region of Nepal, one of the country’s most beloved and popular trekking destinations. This region is home to the world’s highest mountain, Everest, and the flight offers stunning views of the Himalayan range.

Upon arriving in Lukla, you will meet the rest of our team, who will guide you towards Everest Base Camp. After preparing our backpacks, we’ll begin trekking, following the trail down to the Dudh Koshi River. We will cross a long suspension bridge over the river and ascend along a scenic route towards Phakding.

As we reach Phakding, you’ll meet the rest of the crew in Lukla, and we’ll continue following the trail that gradually climbs along the Dudh Koshi River towards Phakding, offering a pleasant and well-marked path.

Day 4 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283 ft.) Duration 6 Hours

The adventure becomes even more captivating as we leave Phakding and follow the trail through Sagarmatha National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage site is rich in flora, fauna, wildlife, alpine forests, meadows, towering mountains, glaciers, and icefalls. We’ll trek through forested areas teeming with diverse species of plants and animals, passing charming Sherpa villages like Monjo and Jorsale on our way to Namche.

Namche Bazaar, one of the most vibrant towns in the Khumbu region, serves as the main gateway to Mt. Everest Base Camp. It’s the only place in the area where you can find everything you need, from shops and cafés to hotels, lodges, and teahouses. During peak trekking season, the town’s narrow streets are bustling with trekkers, locals, traders, and pack animals, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere.

The trail from Phakding to Namche rises and falls several times, which can be tiring, but the fresh mountain air, stunning scenery, and the drive to reach the foot of the world’s highest mountain will keep you motivated.

Day 5 : Acclimatization Day and Hike to Everest View Hotel (3,860m/12,664 ft.) Duration: 3-4 Hours

Today, you find yourself in Namche, at an altitude of around 3,440 meters, making it an ideal day to pause and acclimatize. After enjoying breakfast at the guesthouse, we'll take a hike up to the Everest View Hotel, where you can enjoy breathtaking close-up views of the majestic mountains in the Everest region.

Along the way, you’ll be treated to stunning views of peaks such as Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Cho-Oyu, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Tawache, and many more. After spending some time exploring the area, we’ll return to Namche for the night. On the way back, we’ll also visit a photo gallery, a museum, and a few Sherpa villages, further enriching the experience.

Day 6 : Trek to Deboche (3,860m/12,680Ft) Duration 5 Hours

After leaving Namche, we follow a trail that gradually ascends to Tengboche, located at 3,860 meters. The climb to Tengboche is relatively moderate, and the route offers breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lobuche, and other nearby peaks.

We begin by descending to the Dudh Koshi Valley at Pungi Thanka before gradually ascending toward Tengboche. Upon reaching Tengboche, we’ll visit the renowned Tengboche Monastery, an ancient Buddhist site known for its spiritual significance and its stunning location. The magnificent Mt. Ama Dablam stands proudly above the monastery, and the views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, and other towering peaks in the region are absolutely awe-inspiring.

Day 7 : Trek to Dingboche (4,410m/14,464Ft) Duration 5 Hours

Continuing from Tengboche, we follow the trail down to the Imja River. From there, the path takes us through scenic landscapes and offers stunning mountain views as we make our way to Pangboche village, located at an elevation of 3,900 meters. The village is beautifully set against a backdrop of towering peaks.

As we enjoy breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, and Mt. Lhotse, we gradually ascend towards the pastures of Dingboche. Along the way, we pass through yak herders' fields and summer settlements until we reach the expansive pastureland of Dingboche. Known as a "summer valley," Dingboche is covered in snow during the winter, but in summer, it comes to life with green grasslands and yaks grazing peacefully.

Day 8 : Acclimatization Day and hike to Nagarjun (5,100m/16,728 Ft.) Duration 6 Hours

As we continue trekking to higher elevations, it's crucial to acclimatize to ensure our health and safety. Therefore, today we will stay in Dingboche for acclimatization. After breakfast, we will take a hike to Nagarjuna, a stunning viewpoint situated at 5,100 meters, just above Dingboche on the edge of the Chhukung Valley.

The trail to Nagarjuna is steep, making the ascent a bit challenging, but the mesmerizing mountain views make it all worthwhile. From Nagarjuna, we will enjoy incredible views of Lobuche Peak, Thamserku, Taboche, Kangtega, Mt. Ama Dablam, and many other majestic mountains. You'll also have the rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of Mt. Makalu, the fifth-highest peak in the world. After taking in the breathtaking scenery and spending some refreshing moments at the top, we will descend back to Dingboche for the night.

Day 9 : Trek to Lobuche (4,910m /16,728Ft) Duration 5 Hours

As time passes, we draw closer to Everest Base Camp. Today, we depart from Dingboche and head to Lobuche, located at an elevation of 4,910 meters. The trail from Dingboche leads us through a wide valley, eventually bringing us to Dughla. Along the way, we will pass the Trekkers Aid Post in Pheriche, situated at 4,240 meters, where a few dedicated Western doctors volunteer to treat trekkers. Continuing through the valley, we pass by yak pastures and gradually make our way to Lobuche, surrounded by towering peaks and the anticipation of reaching Everest Base Camp.

Day 10 : Trek to Gorekshep (5,181 m /16,994Ft) and then to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,594Ft) and back to Gorekshep (5,181 m /1,6994Ft) Duration 8 Hours

Finally, the wait is over, and we’ve reached one of the most anticipated moments of our trek. After breakfast in Gorakshep, we begin our journey toward Everest Base Camp, the world's highest mountain base camp. Reaching this iconic spot is a proud moment for every trekker. As we explore the area, we're surrounded by the majestic peaks standing tall before us.

Although Mt. Everest remains hidden between Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Nuptse, the views of the surrounding mountains are truly awe-inspiring. After spending time at the base camp, capturing the incredible scenery in photos, we head back to Gorakshep for an overnight stay.

Day 11 : Trek to Kala Pattar (5,550m /18,190Ft) and trek to Pheriche (4,210m/13,809Ft) Duration 7 Hours

Today is another highly anticipated day of our trekking journey. Early in the morning, we will wake up and hike to Kalapatthar, a famous vantage point near Everest Base Camp that offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. It’s particularly popular for witnessing breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over Mt. Everest, making it one of the most renowned viewpoints in the Everest region.

From Kalapatthar, we will witness the golden rays of the rising sun illuminating the snow-covered peak of Mt. Everest and other towering mountains in the range. After spending some unforgettable moments at Kalapatthar, we will begin our descent to Pheriche.

Day 12 : Trek back to Namche (3,440m/11,283 Ft) Duration 7 Hours

Day 13 : Trek back to Lukla (2,800m/9,184Ft) Duration 8 Hours

Day 14 : Fly back to Kathmandu.

Requirements

Footwear

  • Walking Boots. A pair of water-repellent boots with ankle support. Boots must be in good condition; the best approach is getting new boots and breaking in before the Trek.
  • Trail shoes. Used around the lodge.
  • Walking socks.
  • Gaiters. A pair of knee-high gaiters keep boots dry if walking through snow or on wet ground.

Clothing

  • Waterproof and Windproof jacket (with hood) and trousers (Goretex or similar). For use if it rains or snows during the Trek and in windy conditions.
  • Trekking trousers. (eg. Mountain Hardwear Mesa V2 or The North Face Paramount Peak).
  • Soft Shell Trousers.
  • Long sleeve tops or shirts (not cotton).
  • Microfleece.
  • Mid to heavyweight fleece or synthetic/ Primaloft top.
  • Sleeveless/ gilet or body warmer type fleece / synthetic top. This will help keep your core warm while not bulking when layering up. Gilet is combined with base layers, other fleeces, and a down jacket. This provides the most warmth and insulation.
  • Thermals or baselayer for top & bottom (merino wool or synthetic).
  • Fleece or synthetic leggings. Worn around the camp or added as a layer when the temperatures drop higher up.
  • Medium-weight down jacket.

Heads and Gloves

  • Fleece gloves.
  • Warms mittens and gloves.
  • Wool or fleece hat.
  • Sun hat.
  • Bandana or scarf (e.g., Buff Headwear).
  • Head torch. Bring extra batteries.
  • Sunglasses. The lenses need to be Category 4 rated. They should have side protection or a wraparound design.

Personal equipment

  • Sleeping bag. Overnight lows are down to -15 Celsius. It is possible to rent a bag from Shonas Rental in Kathmandu.
  • Fleece or silk liner for your sleeping bag. A liner protects your sleeping bag from getting dirty. It also helps by adding extra insulation to keep you warm at night.
  • Day pack. Recommended size is around 30 liters. You must have enough space to carry water bottles, cameras, snacks, and extra clothing. The pack should have a good waist belt. Bringing a rain cover to keep the contents dry is also good.
  • Trekking poles (Black Diamond with "Flick Lock" are best). Two poles are mandatory for your safety. These will be helpful on steep sections of the trail and river crossings and for walking on snow or ice higher up.
  • Stuff sacks for keeping your gear dry and organized. Or even better are folded dry bags such as from Exped.
  • Two water bottles. Nalgene wide-mouth bottles are the best. You may use a lower hydration pack, but the tube will freeze in the cold, ensuring you still have two water bottles.
  • Sunscreen and lip salve with a high SPF.
  • Water purification tablets (Pristine, Biox Aqua, or Aqua Mira).
  • Favorite snack food.
  • Books and cards etc.
  • Camera with spare batteries and memory cards.
  • Insurance certificate.
  • Earplugs (optional).
  • Baby wipes (optional).
  • Hand sanitizer. Keep this in your day pack after a toilet break during the Trek or before eating snacks. We provide sanitizer for use before meals.

Traveling

  • Duffel bag for your gear on the Trek. A porter will carry it. Rugged and waterproof, made of a plastic material. Size 80-100 liters. E.g., Mountain Equipment or Rab. Bring a small combination padlock to secure the bag.
  • Travel clothes. You will need casual clothing for air travel days and time spent in Kathmandu.
  • Toiletry bag with soap, travel towel, toilet paper, toothbrush, etc.
  • Any personal medications.
  • Blister treatment (Compeed patches are the best)
  • Rehydration powder (e.g., Dioralyte).
  • Analgesics (paracetamol, ibuprofen and aspirin).
  • Plasters and zinc oxide tape.

    Yes, you can find all kinds of trekking gear in Nepal, especially around the Thamel area of Kathmandu. You can either purchase or rent the necessary items you require for your trekking adventure.   • Can I pay by Credit card in Nepal?

    Yes, you can pay by credit card. The typical surcharge is 4% of the total amount.

  • Are ATMs available in Nepal?

    ATMs are readily available in Kathmandu and Pokhara, but it's a different story once you're in the mountains. Therefore, it's highly recommended to carry cash in such situations. While Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit and debit cards are accepted, it's better to have cash on hand.

    Yes, you may store items on our premises or ask for a similar service from your hotel.

  • How do I obtain all the necessary permits?

    Once you confirm your trek with us we'll prepare all the necessary trekking permits for you.

  • What is the currency of Nepal and how does it work?

    The currency of Nepal is the rupee. The ideal currencies for exchange are those of the USA, Australia, Great Britain, Canada, and Singapore, as well as the Euro, any of which can be readily exchanged in either Kathmandu or Pokhara.

  • Who needs to provide a negative COVID-19 test?

    All travellers must be vaccinated to join a Peregrine trip.  Please note that those with a medical exemption are still required to produce proof of a negative test conducted no more than 72 hours before day 1 of their trip.

  • What is required for proof of vaccination?

    A copy of your vaccination record (either paper or digital) is required. For example, Medicare digital vaccination certificate (AU travellers) an  NHS card with batch number (UK travellers) CDC vaccination record (USA travellers) EU Digital COVID Pass (EU travellers)

  • Is there electricity available during trek?

    Most of the places you will have electricity or solar power where you can charge your mobile, camera etc. which is payable. Normally the hotel owner will charge a couple of hundred rupees for a full charge of battery.

  • Can I get a Nepal visa on arrival?

    Yes, the visa for Nepal is readily available on arrival.

  • What should passengers provide to airlines to show they are fully vaccinated?

    Foreign nationals who are fully vaccinated should travel with proof of their vaccination status to provide to their airline prior to departure to the Nepal.

  • How does the exemption from full vaccination for children work?

    Children under 18 are exempted from the vaccination requirement for foreign national travelers, given both the ineligibility of some younger children for vaccination, and the global variability in access to vaccination for older children who are eligible to be vaccinated.

  • How long do we walk per day during trek?

    On a typical day, clients can expect to walk somewhere between 12 to 15 kilometers, though once we're above 3,000 meters the distances might be shorter in order to stay within safety limits regarding daily altitude gains.

  • What if a passenger provides a fake test result or vaccination card?

    For each of these requirements, air passengers will have to sign an attestation, certifying the validity of vaccination and testing, and confirming that their contact information is complete and accurate. Falsifying any information could result in criminal penalties

  • Are children required to be vaccinated?

    Children between the ages of 5 and 17 are exempted from the mandatory vaccination policy. However, in order to join a Peregrine trip, they must provide one of the following: Proof of vaccination status (for children who are eligible) Proof of a negative COVID-19 test conducted within 72 hours before day 1 of the trip

  • Which vaccines will be accepted?

    Nepal Government has determined that for purposes of travel to Nepal, vaccines accepted will include FDA approved or authorized and World Health Organization (WHO) emergency use listed (EUL) vaccines.

  • What vaccines do you recognise?

    We recognise any vaccine that has been authorised for use by the relevant national authority for COVID-19 in the country where the vaccine was administered. This includes well known vaccines such as Oxford AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNtech, Sinopharm, Sinovac, Sputnik, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, and Covaxin. 

  • What documents will I receive before I travel?

    We will provide tour confirmation voucher

  • What about the Porters?

    Porters are hired at the beginning of a trek to make sure that most of the costs our clients pay go directly into the local community.

  • Is it safe for single women to travel to Nepal?

    Yes, it's completely safe for single women to travel to Nepal, and our staff are well-trained in observing appropriate protocols and behavior.

  • What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?

    Up to 2 times, you do not need to pay any extra charge. Thenafter we will charge 10% tour transfer charge.

  • Will I have to share a room with a stranger?

    Our trips are based on twin share accommodation. Most of our trips have Single Supplements available for solo travellers who wish to have their own room. We are working with our accommodation providers to ensure that more rooms are available for those travellers who wish to room alone.

  • Do I need a visa to visit Nepal?

    You need to get visa to visit Nepal. You can apply the visa in your home country or obtain at the airport on arrival. To obtain visa on arrival, a passport size photo is required.

  • Will my leader be vaccinated?

    All Peregrine leaders and crew must either have been vaccinated, or have tested negative to COVID-19 no more than 72 hours before they start a trip.

  • Can I join the tour once it has departed?

    Yes, you can join the tour

  • What are the testing requirements for children?

    Children between the ages of 2 and 17 are required to take a pre-departure test. If a child is not fully vaccinated and traveling with a fully vaccinated adult, they can show proof of a negative viral test from a sample taken within three days before departure

I’ve done treks before, but the Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek stands out because of the superb hospitality. From the luxurious lodges to the friendly and professional guides, every detail was taken care of. The trekking was challenging, but the opportunity to rest in well-appointed lodges with great food and hot showers made the experience much more comfortable. The views of Everest and surrounding peaks were spectacular, and the chance to explore Sherpa culture added a meaningful layer to the adventure.
