Chitwan is home to a diverse range of species, including rhinoceros, tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild bison, and the nearly extinct Gangetic dolphins. You might also encounter various crocodile species, such as the harmless gharials, while bird enthusiasts will find delight in the 543 bird species present in the park, including the critically endangered Bengal florican, the vulnerable lesser adjutant, and the grey-crowned prinia.
Your day is packed with exciting activities that showcase the natural and cultural wonders of Chitwan. The Jeep Safari offers a traditional way to explore the jungle. Riding high in the jeep allows you to peer over the tall grasses, enhancing your chances of spotting wild animals as they roam through their habitat.
Following the safari, you'll visit a Tharu Village. The Tharu people, indigenous to the Terai region, have lived in harmony with the jungle and its wildlife for centuries. Walking through the jungle provides an intimate connection with nature and a closer look at the rich biodiversity of the park.
The day's adventure continues with a Canoeing Trip along the Rapti River in a handmade canoe. As you glide silently through the water, you’ll witness the river's serene beauty. Keep an eye out for the gharials and crocodiles basking on the riverbanks, as well as the many aquatic birds that thrive in this environment.
To conclude the day, you'll enjoy the Tharu Stick Dance, a traditional tribal dance performed by the Tharu men.
