Check out our Q&As

  • How long does it take to get to Coron on day 10?

We take a ferry from El Nido to Coron which will take approximately 5.5 hours.

  • Where do we spend the first night of the tour?

We stay at the award winning Z Hostel in Makati.

  • Is free Wi-Fi available in the accommodation used?

WiFi is available in all accommodation except the overnight beach camp and the cottages in Port Barton

  • Can you get private rooms on this tour instead of dorms?

Absolutely, before you select your date on the “book now” page you can choose the Double/Twin Share or Single Upgrade option to have your own room. If you haven’t paid for this at the time of booking but want to request an upgrade, please let us know as soon as possible so we can check availability.

  • Does it matter what time I leave on day 14?

As day 14 is departure day, you can depart at any time. We recommend getting a flight from Busuanga Airport and our tour guide will arrange your transport to the airport for you.

  • I haven’t ever camped before. Can you tell me more about the beach camping?

Sleeping in a tent on the beach will be one of the most unique and incredible things you will get to experience. It is a private beach with a purpose-built shelter to protect you from the weather. Each tent comes with a mattress, pillow & sheet and can fit 2 people. There is nothing like waking up on a deserted island, watching the sunrise and going for a morning swim.

  • What are the facilities like on our Island stay in Coron?

We will be staying in either huts or tents on the island, and have access to toilets and traditional Filipino bucket shower facilities. The huts are provided with fans and access to electricity.

  • What is the age range of this tour?

We have an age range of 18 – 45 years of age. Most of our guests are aged between 21-35 years old are looking to experience our adventurous “flashpacking” style of travel. Our tours are perfect for people of different backgrounds to share travel experiences with like-minded fellow travellers.

  • Can I bring a 25kg suitcase?

Please note that we have a 20kg limit on checked luggage on our domestic flight from Manila to Palawan, if you need to add extra at the airport you can do so but it can be very costly. We would recommend bringing a suitcase or backpack that weighs under 20kg.

  • Can we swim with whale sharks on the tour?

The main opportunity to swim with whale sharks in the Philippines is located in Cebu which is a different island to Palawan and Coron where we visit on tour. While we don’t support or include whale shark swimming on tour, there are ethical opportunities within the Philippines and should you travel further around the country once the tour has finished your guide can help advise you on the best places to do so.

  • I want to bring some camera equipment on tour, are there safe places like lockers in the accommodation?

There are lockers/safes in most locations but not all, we recommend bringing a padlock for your bag like you would when travelling in a normal situation anyway for that extra peace of mind.

  • How much spending money do you recommend for this tour?

We recommend a minimum of $500 AUD for the full fourteen days, but it depends on what kind of spender you are. We include a spending guide in your welcome pack. You can withdraw from ATMs at various points throughout the tour, but we recommend withdrawing plenty of cash in Manila since you cannot rely on the ATMs in Palawan. This Cost of Living website gives accurate prices of all the basics in the Philippines, including food and alcohol.

  • Do you include any meals on this tour?

Yes, we include 7 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 2 dinners.

  • Does it matter what time I arrive on day 1 in order to be picked up from the airport?

You can arrive at any time on day 1, but if you arrive after 3pm your tour guide won’t be able to personally collect you. Instead they will arrange your car and meet you at the hostel for your first night.

  • Can I get picked up from the airport if I arrive before day 1?

Unfortunately we only offer airport pick ups on day 1 of the tour, but we include very easy and straightforward instructions in your welcome pack to help you on getting from the airport to the first hostel.

  • Can you cater for my dietary requirements on this trip?

Yes, we can cater for most dietary requirements. Please notify us prior to arriving on day 1 so we can arrange this for you.

  • Should I bring hiking shoes?

There is a little walking involved in the Philippines but not much. Sandals and some trainers/running shoes would be fine.

  • Where should I fly into?

Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL).

  • Will I have the same tour guide throughout the tour?

We try our best to ensure you have the same tour guide for the full 14 days, however, sometimes there may be a change in guide at the end of the 10 day tour.

  • I want to go diving in El Nido, is there the option to do it while on the tour?

Since dive boats usually head out early in the day and there’s only one free afternoon in El Nido, you would need to miss an included activity to participate in a diving trip. However there’s usually at least a few people from every tour who have a few days to spare at the end of the trip who stay in El Nido to go diving.

  • Will I have time to go diving in Coron?

Yes! We have a free day in Coron and our tour guides can assist you in organizing any optional activities to do on this day such as diving.

  • How big are your group sizes?

Our groups are capped at 22 people maximum.

  • Do I have to have travel insurance to come on a tour?

Travel insurance on all One Life Adventures trips is compulsory and we will check for it on tour, if you do not have travel insurance when you arrive on your tour you will not be able to continue without purchasing it.

  • What's the general age range on your tours?

We have an age range of 18 – 45 years of age. Most of our guests are aged between 21-35 years old are looking to experience our adventurous “flashpacking” style of travel. Our tours are perfect for people of different backgrounds to share travel experiences with like-minded fellow travellers.

  • Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?

Yes, we do. We cannot guarantee single sex rooming arrangements in multi-share accommodation (e.g. shared dormitory hostels), but twin share rooms will always be single sex.

Lots of inclusions1

20-Feb-2020

It's now 1 week on since I finished this great tour with One Life Adventures, I had such an amazing time with my new 'fam' and Mike and the great tour leader that he way. The tour itself covered several locations and can you an insight in to the Philippines. The accommodation in the main was great ranging from a boutique hotel to camping on the beach! There were loads of inclusions from day trips to local experiences, even including climbing a coconut tree and visiting a prison. There was also lots of food included and our tour guide Mike would take us to some great restaurants and places to eat and drink. To name but a few you guys are in for a treat at Mojitos in Port Barton and Big Bad Thai in El Nido. The Philippine people are so nice and welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. This was Mike's final trip in the Philippines before he goes off to Japan. He was such a helpful and great guy, from sorting out the initial taxi pickup from the airport to sorting out my onward travel, he was there with help and support throughout the trip and really helped bring us travellers together in to a family. You could tell the emotion as he departed from one location to the next and he had built up such strong connections with the locals which made our experiences even better. I wish Mike all the best in Japan and will even consider doing a tour over there next. This is an amazing experience so look no further and just get it booked!

Perfectly organised!

03-Mar-2020

This tour was PERFECTLY organized, planned, and executed. When doing research and trying to decide on a tour for the Philippines, I always saw the best reviews for One Life and it is clear to me now why that is true! I could honestly write SO much about why I loved this tour, so I'm going to separate this into some sections... Accommodations: Excellent. All of the hostels/hotels we stayed in seemed to be top-tier of that particular place. Clean, comfortable, and plenty of the necessary amenities. Never had to worry about access to clean water. Even in Port Barton, where accommodation is inevitably going to be more basic, it was totally fine and comfortable and honestly felt homey, because the people working there are so sweet and welcoming. Throughout the trip we either stayed in 2-person or 4-person rooms and I really enjoyed the experience. Activities: AMAZING. I mean, you could just stand in place and stare at your surroundings and be content with the beauty of the country, but we had such a variety of activities and somehow still had time for brief but much needed free/rest time. From boat island hopping, to beach lounging, to jungle/cave exploring, and plenty of cultural immersion, I don't see how you could get more breadth of experiences in a 10-day tour. I truly am so impressed with the planning and thought behind the itinerary. Food: Great! As a person who loves to eat and is often hungry, I felt that we were always well fed. Breakfast was most often included with the accommodation (and if it wasn't there were plenty of great options nearby), lunch on the boats was always a DELICIOUSLY fresh and abundant meal cooked by the wonderful boat boys, and dinners were almost always planned by our tour guide for the whole group. I loved this aspect because I looked forward to eating with all of these people who quickly became my good friends, and also we were taken to the best dinner spots! Tour Guide: BECCA IS FANTASTIC! I chose to do a group tour because, as my first time in Asia and travelling solo, I wanted to experience the Philippines with a group of people and to be led by someone who knew what they were doing. I was quite anxious leading up to this trip because of all the unknowns, but once I first communicated with Becca I already felt so much better. She is incredibly personable and in the weeks before the trip, she responded kindly and reassuringly to all of my little questions and concerns - this helpful supportive attitude continued throughout the entire tour. Because she has lived there for awhile, Becca knows Asia so well and I felt consistently at ease knowing that she was there for everything. Every day, after almost every meal or activity, she'd ask "how's everything going? is everyone happy?" and she would remind us often that she is here to make our trip great and to let her know if we need anything. She is so easygoing and friendly and has clearly formed close bonds with the locals, which in turn made our experience that much more personal. Becca is also LOADS of fun - literally has what seems like infinite energy. Always down for a dance party, played awesome music the whole time, organized fun games to pass the time on some longer bus rides, and genuinely just made you feel like you were travelling with your best friend who had the inside scoop on everything. Though I have no doubt that One Life probably only hires the best of the best as their tour guides, I feel so lucky that I had Becca leading my trip! :) Can't say enough good things about this experience. I was so indecisive and it took me way too long to finally decide on this tour, so my advice is, DON'T HESITATE ANOTHER MINUTE. BOOK THIS TOUR! :)

The best experience I could have had

06-Oct-2019

I have super bad anxiety when it comes to travelling. This was my first overseas trip and Milly went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well informed about everything. The whole trip was amazing, the food was great as well as all staff I was served by the whole trip. I love this company and the vibe you’ve created, I am leaving this trip feeling like I’ve made a difference to the people’s lives I’ve touched and in return they’ve made a massive difference to mine. The outcome of this trip was the best experience I could have had and I’m currently looking at booking India with One Life.

Incredible 10 days through the best parts of Palawan!

23-Nov-2019

The most incredible 10 days through the best parts of Palawan! A very well organised trip with the best accomodation; staying on a private island surrounded by clear blue water and snorkelling with turtles to campfires and fireflies by night. Our tour guide was an absolute legend who made the trip what it was by creating such a vibe and always going above and beyond for us all. Couldn’t recommend this whole experience more!

10/10+Proposal on the beach!

03-Mar-2020

I've had the best time on my first One Life Tour with Tom! He made us all feel so welcome, and initiated so many great opportunities for us all to become a really close knit group. Each day was incredible, and it improved as we went through. The island hopping was amazing, and visiting the Pagdanan school was a genuinely life changing experience for me. Tom also helped me to organise my proposal to my girlfriend Charlotte, on the Kalapayan island which was an unforgettable experience (especially since I lost the ring for 30 minutes). Thanks for everything Tom, I've had the best ten days!

Jam packed with so many activities

09-Jun-2019

My One Life experience in the Philippines was one of the best trips I’ve done! From start to finish, the itinerary was jam packed with so many activities- so was good value for money! The private island was an especially unique experience and is one I’ll remember for a long time. Everyone on the trip was so friendly and Jack did a super job of being our tour guide, making the trip a fun, light-hearted time, filled with lots of memories. Highlights included swimming with turtles, climbing a coconut tree, zip lining, playing volleyball on the private island and of course making new friends. I’d definitely recommend this tour to friends and family and would be keen to do another trip with One Life.

Group sizes are great!

14-Jan-2020

Four words - “book this tour now!!” If you don’t, you’ll regret it. First tour I’ve ever been on, and hands down the most amazing experience! The group sizes are great, we had 21 people and you honestly do feel like a little fam bam and everyone gets to know everyone! You get the opportunity to embrace the cultural experience through so many different fun activities, like going to the local prison and seeing the “criminal backstreet boys”, visiting 1 of the 4 local schools and getting to play and dance with the kids, multiple different boat trips and island hopping to see all the amazing sea life out there, visiting underground caves and even just meeting the locals that work at the different restaurants/bars you go to (shout out to Ren, best waiter going around)! All the places you get to stay at are spot on and location is absolutely prime! At Port Barton you can wake up and walk 100m and you’re swimming in the ocean, amazing right?! Huge shout out to Mike, such an amazing tour guide full of knowledge everywhere you go! Definitely made you feel welcome and always up for the kick on drinks after dinner and making sure everyone gets home safely! He always made the tour entertaining by having fun little games for the bus trips and on the private island stay. I injured my toe on the tour and he was so supportive, always made sure I was alright and even came along for a visit to the doctors to get it checked out! One Life Adventures has been such a blast of a tour, you can honestly see the amount of research that has been put into making this tour just how great it really is! I know for a fact I’ll be booking through them again! :)

An exceptional experience

26-Jun-2019

One life adventures Philippines tour provided an exceptional experience for their 10 day tour and I wish it never ended! We got to meet friendly locals in every town we visited and learned so much more about the Philippines and their culture. I really enjoyed our daily activities, such as, visiting Iwahig prison, island hopping in Port Barton and being lucky enough to even camp on one of the private islands. Kate is such a friendly and vibrant tour guide and is very helpful in providing any information we may need. She was really lovely to us and gave us all the insight on the best places to eat and things to do in the towns we visited. I really enjoyed this tour overall and I will highly recommend One Life Adventures to anyone who would like to experience a once in a lifetime tour in South East Asia.
