High up in the Rif mountains, Chefchaouen boasts a beautiful blue door and white-walled medina that was originally a Berber post. The main square is the heart of Chefchaouen, with the Kasbah (built back in the 18th century), central mosque and cafes with authentic menus. The busy market is a mix of traditional Moroccan and tourist fare.

Day 5 - 6 : Fes

Ait Benhaddou - Essaouira. Today’s drive offers panoramic views as we traverse the high Atlas Mountains on our way to Essaouira. A colourful old city and fishing village is located within 15th century Portuguese fortifications. Just outside the town great beaches and an Atlantic surf beckon.

Relax on the beach or alternatively explore the UNESCO-listed medina with its various souks and woodcarving workshops. Any city gate leads to the Medina, so you’re unlikely to get lost. The beach is in front of the Medina and there are plenty of cafés with terraces, both ideal for relaxing for a few hours. Blue doors and window frames abound as do the artists shops – buy a carpet or Thuya wood carving or sit on the beach sipping a mint tea as the sun sets, an antidote to the bustle of the Imperial Cities. During our time here there’s the option to take part in horse trekking or quad biking or a cooking class.

Marrakech set against the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. Its great pride and landmark is the Koutoubia Tower, sister to the Tower of Hassan in Rabat and the Giralda Tower in Seville. It is said that after the third of these was completed, the sultan had the eyes of his architect put out, lest he should build another more beautiful tower elsewhere. No visit to the city is complete without a visit to the city’s UNESCO-listed medina and Djemaa-el-Fna, an extraordinary gathering and market place. An optional guided tour of Marrakech is offered with a local payment of 100 Dirhams, alternatively you can explore the city yourself or relax by the pool.

Camels, Souks & Kasbahs - 15 Days

12-Aug-2015

Younis has been one of the best guides I have had on group tours. He was approachable, knowledgeable and patient with all members on the group. I think he has developed his skills well as a tour guide and it shows in how he deals with any problems arising and their resolution. During the tour, Younis was proactive in arranging the groups activities and any additional activities. Of one point of concern, with some of the restaurants we attended en route to locations (possibly nothing could be done) however some of the restaurants were a bit below average and maybe a new selection could be made. Overall I was very happy with the tour, the guide and the driver. I have recommended the tour to others.

Camels, Souks & Kasbahs - 15 Days

31-Oct-2017

The tour was great, enough time to chill and loads of time to take in the different surroundings. Mohamed was so good organising us all and getting local guides who could make everything interesting. His passion for his culture and country is so enthusiastic it rubs off onto everyone. And Said what can I say he didn't let his limited English curb anything, we even gave him English lessons. We even had a tyre blow out in the mountains which he handled so well. looking forward to finding our next tour. Thanks for all you help with this booking.Susan and Deepa

Camels, Souks & Kasbahs - 15 Days

20-Apr-2018

I chose this tour based on itinerary as it goes to Chefchouen and Essaouira as well as desert and imperial cities. Morocco is an amazing country and I enjoyed very much visiting it. The only bad part of this trip is the hotels - very frugal and not really 3 stars - I could have spent a little bit more and stayed in real 4 star hotels.

Younes was possibly the best tour guide I have travelled with on the many trips booked through OTG - he was absolutely fantastic!

The local guides were excellent and gave us a good insight into Morocco old and new. The tour includes virtually all the interesting places to see in Morocco. Nice to have some time to relax on the coast near the end of the tour.

Younes is an asset to your company. I rate him in line with two of OTG ‘s top guides I have been with Momo Saiid (Egypt) and Lale Kilic- (Turkey) this is a huge compliment for Younes. I would like to have spent more time exploring the Medina in Fez.
