Welcome to Serbia! Upon arrival in Belgrade, our driver will greet you at the Nikola Tesla airport and take you to the hotel. After checking in at your hotel, you will have free time to rest and prepare for the tour.

During a brief meeting with our guide at 7pm, you will be introduced to the tour and provided with all necessary information.

Day 2: Belgrade

Location: Belgrade

Following breakfast, we commence a tour of Belgrade. Our first stop is the Museum of Yugoslav History, a complex dedicated to the life and accomplishments of Josip Broz Tito, the former leader of Yugoslavia. We then drive past the FC Red Star stadium before visiting the iconic Temple of Saint Sava, dedicated to the city's patron saint.

The tour will continue to Slavija Square, Saint Mark's Church, the Serbian National Parliament, White Palace, and Republic Square, with its surrounding cultural institutions like the National Theatre and National Museum. We stroll down Knez Mihailo Street, the main pedestrian and shopping area, and visit the Orthodox Cathedral Church of Saint Michael the Archangel before learning about the historic "Question Mark" tavern. The tour will then proceed to Kalemegdan Park and Belgrade Fortress, a significant cultural and historic site located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers.

Day 3: Belgrade

Location: Belgrade

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Belgrade - Zlatibor. Leaving Belgrade, we drive west towards the picturesque Ovcar-Kablar Gorge. We continue to Tara National Park, where we ride the authentic 'Nostalgia' train that runs along the narrow-gauge heritage railway, Sargan Eight. Enjoy the stunning mountain scenery as we pass through tunnels and viaducts. Originally part of the railway from Belgrade to Sarajevo in the early 20th century, the railway offers a nostalgic trip back in time.

Next, we visit the ethno village Drvengrad (Wooden Town), built by prominent movie director Emir Kusturica. The village is constructed mainly from natural materials such as wood. Hosting the annual Kustendorf Film and Music Festival since 2008, Drvengrad has attracted celebrities like Johnny Depp, Monica Belucci, and Jim Jarmusch.

Our next stop is Zlatibor Mountain, the location of Serbia's first royal resort. Here, we enjoy a leisurely stroll around the charming town centre of this picturesque air spa. In the evening, a delightful dinner featuring traditional Serbian cuisine is included.

Day 4: Sarajevo

Location: Sarajevo

Meals Included: Breakfast

Zlatibor - Visegrad (Bosnia) - Sarajevo. We depart Serbia today, crossing into Bosnia and Herzegovina. Reaching Visegrad, we can see where filmmaker Emir Kusturica built Andricgrad, also known as Stone Town. We stop for lunch at the unique restaurant Zlatna Moruna, adorned with frescoes by artist Bisenija Terescenko.

After lunch we head to the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo. We enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city, visiting key landmarks such as Vijecnica (Sarajevo City Hall), Bascarsija (the old downtown area), the Gazi Husrev-bey mosque, and the Latin Bridge where Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated, sparking the First World War. We also stop at historic sites like the Orthodox Church, Sahat Tower, and the first public toilet in Europe. The day will end with visits to Bezistan market complex, Ferhadiya pedestrian zone, the Sarajevo Synagogue, and a Catholic cathedral.

Day 5: Mostar

Location: Mostar

Meals Included: Breakfast

Sarajevo - Mostar - Blagaj - Trebinje. Today begins with a drive to Mostar, one of the most beautiful cities of the Balkan Peninsula. On a walking tour, we see the iconic Old Bridge, a UNESCO protected landmark and one of the most photographed sights in the country. We also visit the Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque, the Crooked Bridge, and the old tanner’s quarter Tabhana. There is free time for lunch on the banks of the Neretva River, with a stunning view of the bridge.

Continuing to Blagaj, we can enjoy the view of the monastery built by dervish Sari Satluk, which is located in a picturesque setting, beneath cliffs on the shores of the emerald green river Buna.

Next on the itinerary is Trebinje, a picturesque town with a mix of sights from different cultures. We see the Arslanagića Bridge and take a leisurely walk through the narrow streets of the old town to 'Poet’s Square', where you can relax under the shade of 115-year-old trees. We spend tonight at a hotel in Trebinje.

Day 6: Kotor

Location: Kotor

Trebinje - Kotor - Dubrovnik. Today we discover the most popular destination in Montenegro: the Bay of Kotor. En route to Kotor, we stop at the picturesque village of Perast, known for its baroque architecture. From Perast, we enjoy a leisurely boat ride along the Bay of Kotor to the beautiful island of Our Lady of the Rocks, home to a church adorned with valuable paintings and artifacts.

Upon arrival in Kotor, enjoy a guided walking tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights include visits to the churches of Saint Nicholas and Saint Luke, the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, and other cultural landmarks. There is also free time to explore the town further or enjoy a meal at a restaurant in one of the charming squares.

We then complete our journey to Dubrovnik, and the evening is free for you to explore.

Day 7: Dubrovnik

Location: Dubrovnik

Meals Included: Breakfast

Dubrovnik - Split. Today we embark on a sightseeing tour of Dubrovnik, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Europe's best preserved walled cities dating back to the 7th century. The old town is encircled by a 2km long wall, offering panoramic views during a leisurely one hour walk. We also take in highlights such as the main street (Stradun), Placa Square, Pile Gate, the Rector’s Palace, Sponza Palace, Saint Blaise Church, the cathedral, and other picturesque landmarks.

After our tour, say goodbye to Dubrovnik as we travel along the stunning Makarska coast with breathtaking views of Croatian islands, vineyards, olive groves, and traditional villages. Arriving in Split, the evening is at leisure.

Day 8: Sibenik

Location: Sibenik

Meals Included: Breakfast

Split - Sibenik - Plitvice Lakes. On our morning sightseeing tour of Split, our guide will take you through the narrow streets of Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO Heritage Site built in the 4th century for the Roman Emperor Diocletian. We will also see the former Temple of Jupiter, which is now the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, the oldest Catholic cathedral still in its original structure.

Next, we make a short stop in Sibenik, a medieval Venetian city known for its winding streets, stone houses, stairs, and historic city walls. The city is home to notable landmarks such as the Cathedral of Saint James, a UNESCO World Heritage Site constructed over centuries by locals. We arrive at the Plitvice Lakes in the early evening.

Day 9: Zagreb

Location: Zagreb

Meals Included: Breakfast

Plitvice Lakes National Park - Zagreb. Today we discover the 16 interconnected cascading lakes of Plitvice Lakes National Park, one of Croatia's natural highlights. Known as the ‘Devil’s Garden’ on old maps, it was the first site in the Balkans to receive UNESCO World Heritage status. Enjoy a 3-hour guided tour that includes visits to the upper and lower lakes, where you can relax and admire the untouched beauty of this lush paradise (swimming is not permitted).

The final destination on our Balkan tour is Zagreb, the Croatian capital and a small gem of European culture. Our included tour takes in sites including Kaptol (the medieval part of the city), the Franciscan monastery, and the 13th-century Church of Saint Francis. Take a stroll through Dolac, Zagreb's famous farmers' market, and marvel at the baroque architecture of the Church of Saint Mary from the 18th century. The tour ends at Ban Josip Jelacic's monument in the square named after him, located in the heart of Zagreb.

Recently returned from Greece, a 5 day tour with OTG. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience on day 2 where I needed local support to get me out of a tricky situation. Thank you to Alexandra Z from Hetco Tours in Athens for helping me continue on with the trip, to the Hotel Zafolia staffing team and to Danielle and team here in the UK for supporting me with the aftermath. Your kindness will not be forgotten and I will pay it forward. I've now booked 3 trips with yourselves and will continue to go back. Thank you all. Honestly, I am SO grateful. Blessings to you all. Wonderful experience

05-Jan-2023

Jamal is our tour guide. Right from the start, he created a group chat in whatsapp and if any issues to make sure we contact him. He was on the ball with every issue thrown at him. Luggage being left behind, stragglers wondered off in a different path, hotel room etc. He explains the various site along our route to give us a better understanding of the local cultures. We had a great time, thanks to Jamal.

Land of the Northern Lights 5 day tour of Iceland

10-Sep-2021

The Land of Northern Lights tour was a triumph! My tour of Southern Iceland was absolutely wonderful. The venues chosen, the timing allotted at each venue and the variety of things to experience was nearly perfect. Our guide, "Thor", was smart, amusing, full of history and anecdotal stories as well as being incredibly hospitable and helpful. This small group experience was my first, but not my last thanks to On the Go.

On The Go Tours Sri Lanka was an incredible experience that was made even better by our tour guide Akthar. He was incredibly knowledgeable about his country and he loved sharing it with us. The tour covers a wide range of activities so you can truly experience what Sri Lanka is all about. The beautiful 4-5 star hotels at the end of every day was an absolute bonus. Thanks for a great trip OTGT I’m sure this won’t be my last

King Tutankhamun 10 day tour of Egypt

16-Sep-2021

I have just returned from my tour with On The Go and it was an amazing trip! From arriving at the airport and meeting the OTG representative, everything was well organised and hassle free.  Our tour guide was Amir. He is awesome!! From the beginning he was so friendly and enthusiastic about showing us around Egypt, giving us loads of information at each place and time to explore ourselves. Learnt so much from him about this fascinating place, and he was always happy to answer more questions.   The trip itself was amazing. There's lots of travelling on this trip, but it's really not too bad, and the sights you see when you get to where you are going are worth it. I'm not a big fan of boats, but the Felluca ride across the Nile was pretty fun too.  On the first day I also did the optional tour of Cairo with Ahmed Helal - another excellent guide from OTG. It's worth doing this add on as you don't spend much time in Cairo, and you go to three very different places.  I'm so glad that I decided to do this trip. It was just ace.  If you're thinking about it too, you should probably just book it. And hopefully you get Amir as your guide.

TOTALLY MOROCCO We booked a 9 day tour of Morocco visiting many main cities and places of interest. The coach was very comfortable and we felt safe with the driver Suliman. The guide was Hicham Touraouine and he was fantastic. He spoke perfect English as well as French, Arabic and Berber. He was so kind and considerate and made a good tour great. We particularly enjoyed ‘glamming in the Sahara Desert. So much to see and do and great food and company. We would definitely use On The Go Tours again, especially if Hicham was the guide. 09-May-2024

I would give this tour group no stars if possible. The tour was not guaranteed but they did not inform me when I booked and they did not have enough people. Way after I booked they said I needed a doctors letter because I was over 70. Also way after booking I was informed I needed travel insurance. They knew my age when I booked. They would not refund my tour even though it was 4 months away.

Terrible tour of India. For some reason On the Go hadn't realised that my room mate had booked her own room for the first night of tour. So the hotel in Delhi had tried to put me in her room after midnight, by wheeling in an extra bed. She went Crazy!! I then had to sit in hotel reception for hours. While the tour guide said he couldn't find me a room. Throughout the tour the guide consistently ask me and my room mate for money for my room, causing more friction between us. Don't book with this company had the worst experience ever. Go with Intrepid or G Adventure

09-Aug-2023

I had used them once before and loved them. I decided to try them again for a Baltic tour not knowing that they put me on another Tour group- Baltic vision. Loved that tour but was not impressed they marked up the cost for me over 100%. I understand taking some for yourself because of paperwork, but over double the cost everyone else paid on the tour. Just double check before you book with them that you’re not over paying.
