Saturday. Welcome to Bangkok, the bustling capital city of Thailand! A world-renowned tourist destination, this vibrant city offers an eclectic mix of lively street life, cultural landmarks, and busy shopping areas.

Arriving at Suvarnabhumi or Donmuang Airport, you'll be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel for check in. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to explore Bangkok. Why not try some tasty street food or take a thrilling tuk tuk ride?

Day 2: Bangkok

Location: Bangkok, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Phitsanulok

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Bangkok - Phitsanulok. Time to leave behind bustling Bangkok and head towards the historic city of Phitsanulok.

First stop along the way is Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam, and UNESCO-listed heritage site. We'll explore the site by tuk tuk and discover the famed Buddha head cradled within the roots of a banyan tree and the magnificent Wat Maha Dhat.

Continuing to Lopburi, we'll enjoy lunch followed by a visit to the Narai Raja Nives Palace, Prang Sam Yod - also known as the Sacred Three-Spired Pagoda, and the monkey temple.

Arriving in Phitsanulok in the evening, we will enjoy a trishaw ride through the city's vibrant night markets. Be sure to branch out and try tasty street food or shop for souvenir bargains.

Day 3: Phitsanulok

Location: Phitsanulok, Sukhothai

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Phitsanulok - Sukhothai. Today's adventure begins with an exploration of ancient temples and heritage sites, starting with a visit to Wat Pra Si Rattana Mahat - home to Thailand's most beautiful Buddha image.

Our adventure continues to the renowned Sukhothai Historical Park, aptly named the 'dawn of happiness.' Prepare to be mesmerized by the UNESCO World Heritage Site, spanning 45 sq km and boasting 193 artifacts, including palaces, temples, city gates, walls, and villages.

Next, we head to Ganesha Pottery Village, a haven of local artisans preserving the ancient sangkhalok craftsmanship through hand-painted creations.

After lunch, head to our final destination of Sri Satchanalai, the northern outpost of the Kingdom of Sukhothai. Here, we visit Wat Chang Lom and Wat Chedi Jet Thaew.

Day 4: Sukhothai

Location: Sukhothai, Chiang Mai

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Sukhothai - Chiang Mai. Today we set our sights for Chiang Mai, starting with a hands-on experience at the Sukhothai Organic Agriculture Farm. Depending on the season, you will help plant, harvest or mill rice and plough paddies with a water buffalo.

Afterwards, enjoy a well-deserved organic lunch in an open sala overlooking the picturesque rice fields.

We'll continue our journey via Lampang, where we visit Wat Phra Dhat Lampang Luang, home to an enchanting emerald Buddha Statue.

In the afternoon, sample rice crackers during a trip to a domestic factory. Then, relish local flavours during our stop for tasty street food at the vibrant Kad Ban Ta Market.

Day 5: Chiang Mai

Location: Chiang Mai

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Rise and shine with an early morning visit to a nearby temple. The temple visit provides an opportunity to engage in an act of 'merit' by offering food donations to the monks. This sacred experience also creates a harmonious start to our day!

After breakfast, our journey leads us up the Serpentine Road to Wat Pra Dhat Doi Suthep. Perched 1,676 meters above sea level, this mountaintop temple offers stunning panoramic views of Chiang Mai City.

We then head to Chiang Mai’s biggest market, Talat Warorod and continue by rickshaw to the city’s oldest temple, Wat Chedi Luang. After lunch, we visit a handicraft village. Here, you'll witness the skillful creation of traditional products such as Thai Silk and paper umbrellas.

As the evening approaches, get ready for a truly unique Chiang Mai tradition—a khantoke dinner. This captivating experience combines delicious food, traditional dance, and musical performances. Served in charming small bowls known as khan, the meal is enjoyed while seated at low tables called toke.

Day 6: Chiang Mai

Location: Chiang Mai, Tha Ton

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Chiang Mai - Thaton. Start the day off fresh, with a visit to an orchid farm. Immerse yourself in the vibrant colours and varied species of flowers that thrive in Thailand.

We will then drive to the Elephant Poopoo Paper Park, an eco-friendly attraction that offers a unique experience. Discover the fascinating process of making paper products from elephant waste - a creative and sustainable endeavor.

Next, we head to the Dara Pirom Palace Museum, an elegant property that once belonged to one of King Rama V's royal consorts. The building has been transformed into a museum containing a wide range of exhibits showcasing palace decor.

After lunch, our journey leads us into the depths of Chiang Dao Cave at Wat Tham Chiang Dao. The day concludes in Thaton, a quaint village nestled just a stone's throw from the Myanmar border.

Day 7: Thaton

Location: Tha Ton, Chiang Rai

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Thaton - Chiang Rai. Today begins with a long-tail boat ride up the scenic Kok River. Along the way, we'll pass tiny hill tribe villages, traditional bamboo huts and dense jungles.

We jump ashore at Ban Pha Tai and continue by road to Doi Mae Salong. Nestled just 6 kilometers from the Thai-Myanmar border, this mountain holds a storied past as a former home to a Chinese military division back in 1961.

Chinese influences still echo throughout this region, and you'll find several tea plantations and charming tea houses dotting the landscape. The area also boasts open-air bazaars and shops that offer an array of Chinese specialties. Browse through these offerings and immerse yourself in the local culture before we leave.

Following lunch, our adventure continues as we head to Mae Sai, the northernmost Thai town, situated on the Myanmar border. We'll stop here to browse the local market.

Our last stop of the day is the renowned Wat Rong Khun, also known as the 'White Temple.' Crafted by national artist Chalermchai Kositipiat, this mesmerizing creation combines contemporary artistry with kanok architecture.

Day 8: Chiang Rai

Location: Chiang Rai

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Saturday. Our morning kicks off with a visit to the renowned Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos converge. Afterwards, enjoy a short cruise along the mighty Mekong River, soaking up its surrounding landscapes and rugged mountains.

Recently returned from Greece, a 5 day tour with OTG. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience on day 2 where I needed local support to get me out of a tricky situation. Thank you to Alexandra Z from Hetco Tours in Athens for helping me continue on with the trip, to the Hotel Zafolia staffing team and to Danielle and team here in the UK for supporting me with the aftermath. Your kindness will not be forgotten and I will pay it forward. I've now booked 3 trips with yourselves and will continue to go back. Thank you all. Honestly, I am SO grateful. Blessings to you all. Wonderful experience

05-Jan-2023

Jamal is our tour guide. Right from the start, he created a group chat in whatsapp and if any issues to make sure we contact him. He was on the ball with every issue thrown at him. Luggage being left behind, stragglers wondered off in a different path, hotel room etc. He explains the various site along our route to give us a better understanding of the local cultures. We had a great time, thanks to Jamal.

Land of the Northern Lights 5 day tour of Iceland

10-Sep-2021

The Land of Northern Lights tour was a triumph! My tour of Southern Iceland was absolutely wonderful. The venues chosen, the timing allotted at each venue and the variety of things to experience was nearly perfect. Our guide, "Thor", was smart, amusing, full of history and anecdotal stories as well as being incredibly hospitable and helpful. This small group experience was my first, but not my last thanks to On the Go.

On The Go Tours Sri Lanka was an incredible experience that was made even better by our tour guide Akthar. He was incredibly knowledgeable about his country and he loved sharing it with us. The tour covers a wide range of activities so you can truly experience what Sri Lanka is all about. The beautiful 4-5 star hotels at the end of every day was an absolute bonus. Thanks for a great trip OTGT I’m sure this won’t be my last

King Tutankhamun 10 day tour of Egypt

16-Sep-2021

I have just returned from my tour with On The Go and it was an amazing trip! From arriving at the airport and meeting the OTG representative, everything was well organised and hassle free.  Our tour guide was Amir. He is awesome!! From the beginning he was so friendly and enthusiastic about showing us around Egypt, giving us loads of information at each place and time to explore ourselves. Learnt so much from him about this fascinating place, and he was always happy to answer more questions.   The trip itself was amazing. There's lots of travelling on this trip, but it's really not too bad, and the sights you see when you get to where you are going are worth it. I'm not a big fan of boats, but the Felluca ride across the Nile was pretty fun too.  On the first day I also did the optional tour of Cairo with Ahmed Helal - another excellent guide from OTG. It's worth doing this add on as you don't spend much time in Cairo, and you go to three very different places.  I'm so glad that I decided to do this trip. It was just ace.  If you're thinking about it too, you should probably just book it. And hopefully you get Amir as your guide.

TOTALLY MOROCCO We booked a 9 day tour of Morocco visiting many main cities and places of interest. The coach was very comfortable and we felt safe with the driver Suliman. The guide was Hicham Touraouine and he was fantastic. He spoke perfect English as well as French, Arabic and Berber. He was so kind and considerate and made a good tour great. We particularly enjoyed ‘glamming in the Sahara Desert. So much to see and do and great food and company. We would definitely use On The Go Tours again, especially if Hicham was the guide. 09-May-2024

I would give this tour group no stars if possible. The tour was not guaranteed but they did not inform me when I booked and they did not have enough people. Way after I booked they said I needed a doctors letter because I was over 70. Also way after booking I was informed I needed travel insurance. They knew my age when I booked. They would not refund my tour even though it was 4 months away.

Terrible tour of India. For some reason On the Go hadn't realised that my room mate had booked her own room for the first night of tour. So the hotel in Delhi had tried to put me in her room after midnight, by wheeling in an extra bed. She went Crazy!! I then had to sit in hotel reception for hours. While the tour guide said he couldn't find me a room. Throughout the tour the guide consistently ask me and my room mate for money for my room, causing more friction between us. Don't book with this company had the worst experience ever. Go with Intrepid or G Adventure

09-Aug-2023

I had used them once before and loved them. I decided to try them again for a Baltic tour not knowing that they put me on another Tour group- Baltic vision. Loved that tour but was not impressed they marked up the cost for me over 100%. I understand taking some for yourself because of paperwork, but over double the cost everyone else paid on the tour. Just double check before you book with them that you’re not over paying.
