EXCEPTIONAL TREK IN THE WILDERNESS OF MAKALU BASE CAMP

22-Jul-2020

“Pasang and Pemba Sherpa (cousins) are the best 1, 2 punch combination for Himalayan trekking operators in the region! Our recent trek to the Makalu Base Camp Trek, Makalu conservation Area NP, each brought a thorough and thoughtful approach to the logistical and exceptional elements of the trek. Even when encountering unexpected obstacles, both Pasang and Pemba maintained a calm and controlled demeanor and never once shifted responsibility, even when things that were clearly not their fault came up... they always owned the issue and managed the situation with our well-being and comfort at the forefront of their solutions. Having never met either guide before landing in Kathmandu, and only corresponding via text messages with Pemba prior to the trip, we left a mere 8 days after arriving feeling as if we had not only made two new, amazing friends but the kinds of friends we would be honored to call family! Pemba and Pasang carefully and attentively balanced the authenticity of our experience with our comfort and physical well being for the entirety of our time, and even went above and beyond the footprint of the designed trek to provide additional experiences in Kathmandu with guided visits to the Bodinath Stupa and Darbar Square... both unexpected and amazing experiences!!! In all my future visits to Nepal, of which my business and I are currently planning, we will be using the services of Pasang, Pemba and the rest of the team at Mount Adventure Holidays... we couldn't have been more pleased with our experience.”

Makalu Base Camp Trek

01-Aug-2020

We had such an epic experience! We had never really done anything like this before, but we are both quite active and trained for this trek for about 5 months beforehand, with weighted packs, as we decided to carry our packs ourselves and hot hire a porter. It definitely helped! The views are absolutely breathtaking. The landscape changes so dramatically as you make your way to Makalu base camp trek, you feel like you’re in a different part of the world each day! Pasang was super great- he tolerated us and our sassy jokes like a champ, and really came through getting us back to Kathmandu on time for our return flight home when we were stuck on the mountain due to bad weather and flights getting canceled. I’d recommend having a few buffer days before and after your trek just in case! It was definitely the experience of a lifetime, and we were so happy to have done this!

"Makalu Base Camp Trek"

01-Aug-2020

I and my fiancee had this beautiful Makalu base camp Trek in 2019, we had a great time during this trek as we experienced the beauty of nature and fresh Himalayas air with beautiful local people living in this area. This trek is a very peaceful trek as it was not that crowded like Everest trek or Annapurna trek as we have already experienced this trek before as well, in the comparison between other treks this trek is very peaceful and unique as we got our personal time while hiking in this areas. Our guide Pasang was friendly, kind, and great who was very experienced in these areas trekking with a great sense of humor, and we hope to see him again next time as well.

"We had this great trek Makalu Base Camp trek with me and my husband here in Nepal, we joined with the group during this trek as i found this trekking region very different and unique than the other trekking regions here in Nepal as it provided the best views of Himalaya's, Mountains, flora and fauna, local people culture and their daily live hood. Our guide Lakpa Bhote was also a great experienced guide who was very helpful to us in every trial and path of this trek as he elaborated on us that this region consists of 30 types of rhododendrons, 48 types of orchids with variety of trees and herbs. We found this trekking very much interesting as the trail were very fresh with great geographical and biological diversity between local people and flora and fauna, we also saw the outstanding great views of Sagarmatha(Everest), Lhotse, Baruna che, Kanchenjunga Himalayan ranges smiling back to you with many other ranges of the Himalayas from the Sipten-La viewpoint. As we reached the Makalu Base Camp we encountered the great lake on the foothills of Makalu as we thought this lake is made of the Himalayan glaciers of the Makalu as this lake color was as white as the Milk. This Makalu Base Camp also provided us a great view of many lakes with many mountain ranges and we suggest this trek for those travelers who are seeking for a great trek with a quiet environment and great natural views. So as a whole we are satisfied with this trek and want to thank the whole Mount Adventure Holidays family for organizing this perfect trek for us and hope to have another great trek here in Nepal next year with you guys."
