Tour Overview
Enjoy the facilities, architecture and entertainment programme at Warner’s Thoresby Hall – the perfect base for exploring Nottingham and Lincoln.
Itinerary
Day 1
Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then travel to Nottinghamshire and on to Warner Thoresby Hall for a four-night stay. Enjoy a delicious evening meal and fantastic entertainment.
Day 2 Lincoln
Location: Lincoln
Today we will travel to Lincoln, with its tangle of cobbled medieval streets filled with high street shops and boutiques side-by-side.
Its impressive castle and cathedral are situated high above the city and are well worth the walk up ‘Steep Hill’ where you’ll be rewarded with truly magnificent architecture. First settled in by the Romans, then invaded by the Vikings, the city's mini-districts are a mish-mash of modern shops, cafés and historic, cultural remnants.
Day 3 Morning In Bakewell, Afternoon At Leisure
Location: Morning in Bakewell, Afternoon at Leisure
Today we visit charming Bakewell, nestled in the glorious Peak District. Idyllically situated on the banks of the River Wye, and famous for its delicious pudding, this pretty town has so much to offer!
Later, we return to Thoresby Hall where the remainder of the day is at leisure so you can relax in the scenic surroundings of Thoresby Hall and enjoy Warner’s activities and entertainment – perhaps take a dip in the indoor-heated swimming pool, try something new like archery or a spot of croquet on the lawns*!
Day 4 Nottingham
Location: Nottingham
Today we visit Nottingham, a lively city with lots to offer. Why not dive into the rich history and unravel stories of Robin Hood? There's many walking tours and trails about the legend.
An array of architectural styles and eras are showcased in the city's buildings, while Nottingham Castle, perched on a high rock, is home to the remnants of medieval fortifications. You'll also find diverse culinary offerings, shopping venues and independent boutiques, and the Creative Quarter is worth a visit to explore an eclectic mix!
Day 5
Return home.
