Day 2 Brunel's Ss Great Britain & Museum Of The Great Western Railway
Location: Brunel's SS Great Britain & Museum of the Great Western Railway
After a leisurely breakfast, our coach takes us to Bristol to discover Brunel's masterpiece, the SS Great Britain. Once the world’s biggest passenger ship when it was in service, enjoy time to explore the painstakingly restored ship, captivating dry dock and original settlement. The quaint courtyards feature a charming variety of shops, pubs, modern outlets and stylish cafés.
Our journey continues, with the coach taking us towards Swindon's Museum of the Great Western Railway. Housed in a stunningly renovated Grade II listed railway building, this museum stands in the heart of what once was the Swindon railway hub. Learn more about the men and women who built, operated and travelled on the Great Western Railway, see iconic locomotives, experience a unique train simulator, and work the signals in the interactive signal box.
We return by coach to our hotel for dinner this evening.
Day 3 Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway & Broadway
Location: Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway & Broadway
Today, our coach takes us to the elegant town of Cheltenham, where we hop aboard the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Operated by volunteers, this heritage railway runs along the border of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. Travelling between Cheltenham Racecourse and Broadway, enjoy panoramic views of tranquil villages, the distant Malvern Hills, and the stunning countryside – expect to see some of the most spectacular scenery in the Cotswolds.
Our arrival in Broadway, you’ll have time at leisure to explore this postcard-worthy village. Be sure to wander down the scenic high street with its towering chestnut trees, period houses and honey-coloured cottages.
We return to the hotel by coach and enjoy dinner this evening.
