Day 2 Edinburgh & Edinburgh Castle
Location: Edinburgh & Edinburgh Castle
We visit Edinburgh today, the marvellous capital of Scotland. You'll have leisure time to soak in the medieval ambiance of the Royal Mile or indulge in some shopping on the bustling Princes Street before we embark on our tour of the iconic castle.
Situated atop Castle Rock, an ancient volcanic plug, Edinburgh Castle dominates the city’s skyline and serves as a symbol of Scotland’s historical legacy. Don't miss out on the Scottish Crown Jewels, the quaint St. Margaret's Chapel, and the one of Europe's oldest cannons, Mons Meg.
Day 3 Morning In Peebles & Afternoon At Leisure
Location: Morning in Peebles & Afternoon at Leisure
This morning, we visit the scenic town of Peebles. Nestled alongside the River Tweed, this nearby Border Town boasts a rich history, having earned its Royal Burgh status in 1152. Wander its ageless high street, dotted with independent shops, and explore the well-preserved medieval closes and alleyways.
Later, we return to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 4 Abbotsford House And Gardens & Jedburgh
Location: Abbotsford House and Gardens & Jedburgh
Today, we visit Jedburgh, a town renowned for its connections to Mary Queen of Scots. Until the 17th century, Jedburgh's strategic location made it a focal point of numerous Border battles. Nowadays, it radiates charm, with vibrant, restored structures surrounding its Market Place.
We then visit the incredible Abbotsford House and Gardens, the grand residence of none other than Sir Walter Scott – the famed 'Great Scott'. He rediscovered Scotland’s Crown Jewels, popularised tartan, and saved the Scottish banknote. We enjoy a guided tour through the lavish rooms and into the enchanting gardens, before indulging in an included cream tea.
Day 5
Return home.
