Check out our Q&As

  • How will I access money while I’m away?

We recommend getting a travel currency card through Wise. You can use the Wise card almost everywhere and withdraw cash and use it with Google or Apple Pay. If you transfer your money into the local currency, you can avoid paying foreign exchange fees when you use the card. There are ATM’s available throughout India, however be sure to give any machines a once over before a transaction to check for scam devices. Some places only accept cash.

  • What luggage do you recommend?

We always recommend travelling with a backpack and packing light! 10-20kgs of stuff should be plenty. It’s generally quite hot so dragging around a huge suitcase is not much fun. There is luggage storage at the airport or at some accommodations if needed.

  • How much spending money will I need?

All your activities, accommodation, transport and some meals are included, so you’ll just need money for any extra meals, drinks, shopping and any onward travel. We recommend you bring at least £750 / $1500 spending money.

  • Do many people travel alone?

Yes. Lots of people on our trips are travelling solo. But by doing our trip you’ll instantly be part of a group, so it’s a great way to meet others and make friends!

  • What power outlets are used in India?

India has three typical plug types – C, D and M. Plug type C has two round pins, plug type D has three round pins in a triangular pattern, and plug type M also has three round pins.

  • Is there Wi-Fi throughout the trip?

Most accommodations we stay at have free Wi-Fi available. The network quality is often lower than you’re used to but you can generally connect and do basic stuff.

  • When is the best time to visit India?

India is a huge country with diverse regions, and it’s possible to travel India any time of year. However, the best time to visit Northern India is from September to May. It starts getting hotter from April, and parts of the country experience the summer monsoon from June to the start of September. We operate India Experience from September to May to avoid the hottest and wettest times of the year.

  • Am I contributing to any charity by booking the tour?

We operate our own socially conscious initiative called Small Change that aims to protect the environment, promote cultural exchange, support local communities and protect animal welfare. We use money a portion of the money you pay for the tour to achieve or goals. We also plant 10 trees for every booking we receive.

  • What documents will I receive before I travel?

An emailed 'Before you Go' Info pack along with access to the INTRO Travel App, which contains all the destination and tour information you'll need.

  • What is the maximum age limit on Intro Travel tours?

Our trips are aimed at those aged 18 to 40’s. The majority of people that do our trips are aged 18 to 39, but we regularly have people in their 40's and occasionally 50’s travel with us who have an incredible time! As long as you have an appetite for adventure and are happy to share your experience with people of different ages and backgrounds, you’ll fit in perfectly on any trip.

  • Who will be my travelling companions on the tour?

A variety of like-minded travellers from all over the world aged 18 - 40's

  • Will the accommodation included meet local health and safety regulations?

Yes. We pride ourselves on our high standard of accommodation.

  • What policies are in place for Covid-19?

At INTRO we want all group members to feel safe and comfortable whilst travelling with us. As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the use of facial coverings, hand sanitisers, enhanced cleaning and disinfecting processes, as well as social distancing measures will be practised where appropriate or deemed necessary on our tours.

  • What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?

We offer free date changes up to 30 days before your start date. Within 30 days there may be some small fees incurred.

  • How long has the tour company been trading?

    Since 2005

  • Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?

Yes. Some tours we offer a private room option upon request.

Just finished the 28 day...

Just finished the 28 day Intro Oz East Coast Adventure tour and I had the best time! Shannon and Val were great tour leaders. They were both very knowledgeable about all the locations, gave great recommendations for things to do and had such positive energy throughout. Shannon was especially helpful for those of us on the tour who were staying in Australia to work, she gave great guidance and was always there for a chat. The whole tour was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend!

06-Dec-2023

Just finished the 18 day Thailand Tour, by far one for the most memorable experiences of my life, one that will not be forgotten. The activities and experiences were exceptional, saw all the different cultures and beauties of Thailand. This trip ran so smoothly and the spirit of the trip kept so high by our group leader. Tess was such an amazing group leader, so much support and help throughout the trip as well as onward travel help. Couldn’t recommend this trip and group leader more to anyone looking to get out there to Thailand 🫶🏻

Vietnam Experience

21-Dec-2022

Unbelievable trip to Vietnam in the Experience tour. So well organised, I literally switched off when I turned up to the hotel and let my tour guide take control. Met some amazing people and more importantly, I was lucky enough to have a tour leader, Oscar, who was Vietnamese. He was so helpful with everything… From arranging a solo room when I felt I needed it, to helping me with my data. Highly recommend Intro. I’ve already booked Sri Lanka in Feb!!

Had an amazing experience in...

08-Apr-2024

Had an amazing experience in Japan with our Intro guide, Elmer!! Japan is a beautiful place to visit with so many unique and wonderful experiences! The tour really highlighted all of the beauty and culture of the country and it was made so much better by Elmer! He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable with each day’s activities and to my wonderment was able to bring us all over the country through the labyrinth of trains and other modes of transport with ease! It was obvious that he had a lot of experience navigating in high stress situations. Beyond knowledge, he was very attentive and kind to all the members of our group and even went out of his way to get a cake for someone’s birthday! I can honestly say that I don’t think I would have enjoyed myself half as much had we not had him with us! Hoping to be able to take another tour with him in the future!!

Viva Mexico

17-Jan-2023

Viva Mexico has been the perfect starting point for our travels around Central America. The whole experience was made super stress free with support from our leader Ethan who we genuinely felt we could come to with anything. This tour gives so much variety in exploring Mexico - you have both culture and fun! Also, places you get to visit with this tour are so unique and oftentimes off the beaten path ; it would be near impossible to organise this all ourselves. A couple of honorable mentions have to go out to the church in san juan chamula (one of the most surreal experiences in my life) and to bacalar which felt like the most incredible beach holiday possible. Everything on this tour, from the leader, guides and organisation to cooking breakfast with indigenous communities and learning so much about Mexico's culture and history - just amazing.

Well, where to start, I...

14-Oct-2024

Well, where to start, I have been wanting to visit Bali for a while and came across Intro Travel. The 15 day experience has been amazing, it was paradise and I never wanted it to end. Best trip of my life! It was a full itinerary, with plenty of chill time as well! We visited local balinese families and businesses, went snorkelling with turtles, swimming with manta rays and even went surfing! The whole trip ran very smoothly! Caro our group leader is just an absolute LEGEND, always smiling, singing and dancing, no matter what time of the day it is! No problem too big or too small! Thanks for an amazing trip, Caro!

08-Dec-2023

I went on the 18 day Thailand trip and I can't recommend this enough! Everyday was a completely different, memorable experience. Tess our group leader went above and beyond to make sure everyone was included and enjoying theirselves. I couldn't have asked for a kinder, sweeter and knowledgeable group leader to look after us. Already planning my next intro trip!

Currently on my way home...

14-Jun-2024

Currently on my way home from the Bali intro 12 day trip, so sad to be leaving 🥲 Had the most amazing time, made friends for life and made so many memories. The experiences you’ll have on this trip are amazing. Our group leader Greta was lush and always made sure we were safe and had the best time. You’d be lucky to have Greta as your group leader 🥰 If you’re nervous about travelling or have never travelled on your own before then the intro trips are great. This was my first solo travel and being with the group and having everything planned was so reassuring. The amount of experiences and activities within this trip are crazy and we even had opportunities to do extra activities such as scuba diving which was magical. All accommodations were to good standard and so pretty. I cannot wait to book on to another intro trip and travel some more. Definitely going to miss everyone and being in Bali 💗
