On the first day of your trip to El Salvador, you'll arrive at the airport and be transferred to your hotel in San Salvador. In the evening, you'll have time to explore popular areas like Multiplaza, Gran Vía, or Paseo El Carmen, known for their vibrant nightlife. The next day, enjoy a city tour visiting iconic places like "La Puerta del Diablo" and the Historic Center, along with a hike in El Boquerón National Park. Our local guide will be delighted to show you around our capital, San Salvador, and share insights into the country’s history, culture, and people. We’ll start by visiting “La Puerta del Diablo” (The Devil’s Door), where you’ll have an impressive view of El Salvador’s volcanoes. Next, we’ll explore the Historic Center of San Salvador, including the National Library, the Cathedral, and Monseñor Romero’s Mausoleum. We’ll also take a panoramic tour of the modern and new neighborhoods. Enjoy free time for lunch (meals not included). Depart westward and enjoy views of the Sonsonate Valley, known for sugarcane cultivation. Next, explore the historic town of Ataco, a cultural meeting place. Explore El Salvador’s Maya heritage today. Visit Tazumal, the country’s largest pyramid with an intriguing drainage system built by the Maya. Continue to Santa Ana, where you’ll have the chance to visit the newly renovated Santa Ana Theater (admission not included). Enjoy free time for lunch. Later, explore the famous archaeological site of Joya de Cerén, an ancient Maya village preserved under volcanic ash. Arrive in Suchitoto by day’s end.
