Day 5: Positano - Amalfi (B/-/D)
Today after breakfast, you have the freedom to relax and explore the city on your own. Alternatively, you can choose to spend your day on the Amalfi Coast, one of the most spectacular coastlines in Europe. A Minivan will pick you up from the hotel for the Amalfi Coast drive, which is arguably the world's most beautiful and thrilling sightseeing road. Your English or German-speaking driver will provide general information during the journey, including how to spend your free time at each of the 3 programmed stops:
Positano is a true paradise, developed vertically with a tangled overlay of streets, alleys, and shops that showcase the colorful Positano fashions, well-known worldwide. In the town center stands the Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta, boasting its large dome, tiled in majolica, and housing precious works like polychrome marble altars. It's a wonderful experience to get lost in Positano, fully embracing the town's beauty by walking without a precise destination. You'll have the chance to enjoy the streets, little shops, restaurants, monuments, churches, and beaches.
Amalfi, a picturesque interlacing of alleys and stairways, overlooks the sea, reflecting its extraordinary colors, creating an enchanting landscape. The town's name blesses the entire coast. Dominated by the majestic Cathedral dedicated to Sant'Andrea (St. Andrew), Amalfi showcases numerous testimonies of its glorious past as the Maritime Republic.
Ravello, another pearl of the coast, is an elegant and refined village immersed in greenery and characterized by luxurious villas. Ravello is famous worldwide for its Festival, held in the garden of Villa Rufolo, where an evocative setting and the emotion of listening to great music create an experience of extraordinary intensity. The heart of Ravello is represented by Piazza Vescovado, framed by the architecture of Palazzo Rufolo and the Cathedral with its magnificent portal (the first ever made with this innovative mold technique) and a 10-foot-high bell tower.\"
