This morning after breakfast enjoy a tour of Madrid. On this panoramic tour you will discover the medieval origins of the city with its Arabic fortress at the Barrio de la Morería, famous for its historic buildings. Drive through the courtesan district of the Hapsburgs characterized by Phillip II and its Renaissance and Baroque style buildings, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa; the Madrid of the Bourbons and the complex town planning schemes of Charles III, the Royal Palace, Cibeles and Neptuno Fountains and the Puerta de Alcalá. Admire the 19th century work such as the Prado Museum. Then explore contemporary Madrid with areas such as Gran Vía, Castellana, the district of Salamanca, Plaza Castilla and Parque del Oeste, as well as the commercial and financial areas of Modern Madrid, the emblematic Las Ventas Bull Ring and the Santiago Bernabéu Football Stadium. After breakfast drive southward through the land of Don Quixotes the Man from La Mancha along the way you will observe vast vineyards. There will be a brief stop in Puerto Lapice before crossing through the Despeñaperros (a natural gorge) into Andalucía, a region with a splendorous past. Upon arrival in Cordoba enjoy a tour of its impressive Mosque and other sites with the opportunity to stroll through the narrow winding streets of the Jewish Quarter. This afternoon, after a short two hours drive, we will arrive in Sevilla.

Today you will depart for Morocco taking the ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar from Tarifa to Tangier, Morocco. Upon disembarkation from the cruise, clear customs, and head south via Larache to the great city of Fez, Moroccos spiritual and intellectual capital and home to the largest old Medina in the world.

This morning enjoy a city tour of the most ancient and monumental of the Imperial Cities visiting the 7 gates of the Royal Palace, Jewish Quarters or Mellah, the Gate of Bab Bou Jelous along with a walk in the Medina. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. You will have plenty of time to explore the city and maybe do some shopping in the Medina. We recommend you see the Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts Crafts or the Jnan sbil: this peaceful oasis used to be an imperial garden.

Day 8: Fez – Rabat - Marrakech (B/-/D)

This morning drive to the ancient city of Rabat, the diplomatic and administrative capital of Morocco. Visit the exterior doors of the Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V and the Hassan Tower. This tower was commissioned by Abu Yusuf Yaqub al-Mansur, the third Caliph of the Almohad Caliphate in 1195, the tower was intended to be the largest minaret in the world along with the mosque, also intended to be the world's largest. After lunch (not included), you will continue your journey driving south through the Mid-Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, the capital of the south, located within an extensive oasis between the Atlas Mountains and the pre-desertic area.

After breakfast enjoy a tour of Marrakech, the second oldest Imperial city and known as “the Pearl of the South,” home to beautiful mosques, palaces, and gardens. See the Koutoubia Tower (outside only), the twin tower of the Giralda in Sevilla. Once inside the old part of the city, we visit the Bahia Palace, property of a nobleman of the city. Wander around the medina, souks and the magical Djemaa El Fna Square packed with fortune tellers, snake charmers, acrobats, dancers, all making the centre of the city an open-air theatre that requires the participation of the audience. Dont forget your camera. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure.

After breakfast depart for Casablanca, the industrial and economic capital, and the most populated city in Morocco. Upon your arrival in Casablanca, you will have a panoramic tour of the city. You will be able to see the city's French colonial legacy in its downtown Moresque architecture, a blend of European art deco and Moorish style, Boulevard de la Corniche, United Nations Square, Habbous and Anfa residential neighborhoods. You will see the Hassan II Grand Mosque (entrance not included). It is the largest mosque in Casablanca and the 5th largest in the world. Its minaret is the world's tallest at 210 meters. Completed in 1993, it was designed by Michel Pinseau, the famous French Architect, and built by Bouygues.

Granadas most popular tourist attraction consists of a gathering of splendid Moorish palaces and landscaped gardens. Set against a backdrop of brooding Sierra Nevada peaks, it was originally formed as a small fortress in 889 AD on the remains of a Roman fortification. Along with the visit to the Alhambra you will visit the magnificent Generalife Gardens. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure with time to discover this beautiful city.
