Welcome to Germany! Upon arrival at the Munich International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Munich is the capital city of the state of Bavaria and is where the annual Oktoberfest Festival takes place every year from mid-September to the beginning of October.

In the morning after breakfast, you will meet your guide and head on a tour of Munich to see the citys main attractions. Your tour will end at Marienplatz in the heart of the city center, known for its famous clock tower, the Glockenspiel. Every day at 11 AM, 12 PM, and 5 PM in the summer, it chimes and re-enacts two stories from the 16th century. The Glockenspiel consists of 43 bells and 32 life-sized figures. Spend your afternoon at leisure – perhaps visit the Olympic Park (home to the 1972 Olympics) on the north side of the city or see the impressive BMW WELT (BMW world) Complex, a modern, multifunctional exhibition facility for the prestigious German vehicle group BMW. Spend some time in the beautiful Englischer Garten (English Garden), or travel further afield to visit Dachau, a Concentration Camp Memorial Site which is an important place to gain insight into the times of the Holocaust.

Today after breakfast, you will head out to explore Berchtesgaden, a typical traditional Alpine village at the foot of Mount Watzmann. Berchtesgaden National Park, created in 1978, is the only national alpine park in Germany. The park was designated
a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1990 for the protection of its breathtaking landscape. The regions attractions include the salt mines, Lake Konigssee, and Obersalzberg with the Eagles Nest, which was once the site of Hitlers Mountain Retreat. After a visit to the Eagles Nest (only possible from May till mid-October), you will have free time to explore the area at leisure; perhaps head on a boat tour on Lake Konigssee before returning to Munich.

After breakfast, you will travel to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Germany. Head on a sightseeing tour of this lovely medieval town which will conclude a Schneeballen (snowball) tasting, a pastry considered to be the signature dish of Rothenburg. Next, you will travel to Nuremberg to visit the historic city center, where you will learn more about its impressive history with a tour of the well-preserved castle, the Gothic churches, medieval houses, and peaceful squares.

In the morning after breakfast, start the day with a visit to the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Ground. The gigantic remains of buildings in the southern districts of Nuremberg serve as a reminder of the megalomania of the National Socialist regime. Across 11 square kilometers, a monumental backdrop was to be created for the self-staging of the Nazi Party. Today, the unfinished Congress Hall houses the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Â
