Day 2: Windohek (Arrival) - Namib Desert (-/-/-)

On arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, Windhoek, you will be met and transferred to your lodge at the Namib Desert for the night. This is the gateway to Sesriem Canyon and Sossusvlei, where some of the highest sand dunes on Earth stand towering over the white desert plains. The afternoon can be spent relaxing at the pool or taking part in optional activities offered at our lodge.

After a delicious breakfast, you will start your day with a guided tour of the Namib-Naukluft Desert, an ancient land with an ageless spirit. It is home to some of the rarest plant and animal species in the world. Sightings of this unique fauna and flora are a must on a Namibian safari. The animals of this harsh landscape include the oryx, springbok and Hartmanns Mountain Zebra. You will be captivated by the surreal Deadvlei surrounded by some of the highest dunes on earth and Sossusvlei, where the dry Tsauchab River ends abruptly amongst dunes. Take the opportunity to walk up one of these majestic dunes to admire the desert landscape beneath. Thereafter you visit the Sesriem Canyon, a life-sustaining natural phenomenon in the heart of the Namib Desert.

Day 4: Namib Desert – Swakopmund (B/-/-)

This morning, you will start your day going to the little settlement of Solitaire, on the edge of the Namib Naukluft National Park, here you can enjoy a cup of coffee before traveling to Swakopmund via the desolate, rolling hills of the Kuiseb Valley towards the Atlantic Ocean. After reaching the coastal harbor town of Walvis Bay, you will visit the shallow lagoon, one of the most important wetland areas on the African continent and a RAMSAR World Heritage Site. Over 80% of the African flamingos feed in this lagoon. Continuing along the scenic route between the dune belt and the Atlantic Ocean you will reach Swakopmund, a popular holiday destination in Namibia. Here you will spend the rest of the day is spent at leisure.

In Swakopmund, sometimes called the playground of Namibia you will have the opportunity to explore the fascinating features of the Namib Desert and the animals and plants that occur and survive there. Embrace the relaxed pace of this idyllic coastal town whilst enjoying coffee and freshly baked pastries in one of the many cafes, explore the rugged, sweltering desert on a day tour, or view this awesome, environment from the air on a scenic flight. Perhaps youd like to push adrenaline to its limits with extreme adventures such as skydiving over the desert or quad biking and sandboarding on the dunes.

Day 6: Swakopmund – Damaraland (B/-/-)

Today you will head north, traveling past the Brandberg, Namibias highest mountain (2.579m), into Damaraland, one of the least populated and geologically diverse areas in Africa. This place is home to the elusive desert elephant, the black rhino and free-roaming antelope species. Accompanied by a local Damara guide you will visit Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO heritage site where Bushman communities engraved and painted over 2.500 pictures around 6.000 years ago. After a visit to the nearby Living Museum of the Damara you will visit the Petrified Forest - a geological phenomenon depicting the creation and metamorphosis of wood into stone amongst some of the oldest landmasses on Earth. Here you will see the Welwitschia mirabilis plant – the oldest living desert plant on Earth.

Day 7: Damaraland – Etosha National Park (B/-/-)

After a hearty breakfast, you will travel to Etosha National Park, Namibias best-known highlight and famous for its vast amount of wildlife. Etosha was declared a National Park in 1907 and it is home to approx. 114 mammal species, 340 bird species, 110 reptile species, 16 amphibian species and, surprisingly, one species of , fish. Once you reach the camp you will head onto our first safari into the National Park. Together with your guide you will explore the various water,holes located close to Okaukuejo and the Anderson gate.

Board your touring vehicle and spend another day in Etoshas unique desert landscape searching for amongst other animals, its large population of elephants and marveling at its prolific bird life. Today you will spend a full day in this world-class game park in your touring vehicle, visiting several waterholes to observe the wildlife. Etosha translated, means ‘The place of dry water and here you get our first view of the magnificent pan. The Etosha Pan is a vast, bare, open expanse of shimmering green and white that covers around 4 800km², almost a quarter of the beautiful Etosha National Park. At 130 kms long and up to 50kms wide in places, it is comfortably the largest salt pan in Africa and is the parks most distinctive and dramatic feature, visible even from space.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and embark on a game drive in the Etosha National Park, you may encounter animal species you might not have seen the previous day. The Etosha Pan dominates the park. During Etoshas notorious dry spells the pan is a deathly place, lying parched and cracked under the molten African sun. It is claimed that game viewing is best during the dry spells as animals will then congregate closer to water. But even in the rainy season, the park remains an abundant wildlife haven. You will have the pleasure of experiencing the rebirth of life as the young foals, cubs and chicks are seen frolicking with their parents and the sprouting new green shrubs and grasses create a pleasing green oasis. In the afternoon you will travel back to the lodge, where you can enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure

After breakfast, you will travel back to Windhoek where you will be transferred to the airport in time for your departure flight. Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
