Once known as Constantinople and Byzantium, Istanbul's position on the Silk Road has made it an economic, historical and cultural centre, serving as an imperial capital numerous times for the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires. With both Asian and European sides to the city, this metropolis offers a lot to explore. Perhaps join our optional tours.

Day 3: Istanbul - Zagreb (Flight) (B/-/D)

Today you will make your own way to Istanbul airport for your flight to Zagreb. Welcome to Croatia! Upon arrival at Zagreb International Airport, you will be met and transferred to the hotel. After check-in, you will have some time to relax at the hotel. Then you will meet your local guide for a sightseeing tour around the city. You will get the opportunity to see Zagrebs two hills, the upper town, and the new neighborhoods in the Croatian capital. You will be provided with dinner at the end of the day.

Day 4: Zagreb – Banja Luka – Sarajevo (B/-/D)

In the morning after breakfast, depart from your hotel in the morning to travel across the border into Bosnia. The border area still shows sad memories of the conflict that took place in the 1990s. Then you will cross the Serb-majority Bosnia. The first stop will be Banja Luka as you will have time to walk through the capital of the autonomous entity of the Srpska Republika, the second largest city in Bosnia after Sarajevo, with its fortress and orthodox cathedral. Then, departure to Jajce, perhaps the most beautiful town in Bosnia, with its cultural mix, its mosque, its fortress and its impressive waterfall. Time for a walk and lunch. After lunch, resume your trip to Sarajevo, where you will arrive by mid-afternoon. A sightseeing tour with a local guide will be arranged around this highly Turk-influenced city. Discover the musks, madras¬sas, and bustling bazaars. Dinner will be included in the evening.

Day 5: Sarajevo – Mostar – Dubrovnik (B/-/D)

Today after breakfast, you will embark on a sightseeing tour with a local guide in Sarajevo, a fascinating city known as the \"Jerusalem of Europe\" due to the coexistence of several religions. Mosques, churches and synagogues reflect the religious diversity of the area. You will observe the significant Ottoman influence in its old town, with its grand mosque of over 500 years old and its beautiful fountain. After the visit, you will continue your journey through an area of pure beauty, Mostar, with its wonderful historic center and its stone bridge that separates the Orthodox, Muslim and Catholic communities. There will be time for lunch and a stroll through the city. You will then proceed to Croatia, where border procedures may be lengthy. Finally, you will arrive in Dubrovnik at the end of the day.

In the morning after breakfast, you will go on a panoramic tour of Dubrovnik with a local guide. You will visit the Franciscan Monastery with the oldest pharmacy in Europe and the Dubrovnik Ca¬thedral. You will head on a cable car ride which offers fantastic views of the city and the neighboring islands. The afternoon will be free at leisure to explore this breathtaking region. You will return to your hotel at the end of the afternoon. Dinner will be included in the evening.

Day 7: Dubrovnik – Ston – Split (B/-/D)

After breakfast, you set off in the morning, traveling along the Croatian coastline, which displays amazing seascapes and islands. En route, you will make a stop in Ston, a picturesque town that boasts one of the longest walls in the world. You continue amidst pleasant landscapes, where the great Peljeski Bridge crossing the sea stands out. You will arrive in Split in the afternoon. The tour includes a visit with a local guide and admission to Diocletians Palace. You will explore this immense palace from Roman times, its labyrinth of streets, and views over the sea. The evening will be free at leisure — but dinner will be included.

Day 8: Split – Plitvice – Opatija (B/-/D)

Today after breakfast, you will explore the interior region of Croatia, passing through the beautiful hilly landscapes until you arrive in Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your entry into the park will be included (with access to the lakes boats or trains), where you will see the gorgeous lakes and waterfalls. You will be able to trek along the trails and head on the boats that sail through the waters of the lake. After lunch, you will travel back to the coast towards Northern Croatia. Upon arrival in Opatija, you will be directed to your hotel. Dinner will be included in the hotel.

Day 9: Opatija – Postjona – Bled – Ljubljana (B/-/D)

In the morning after breakfast, pass the border as you travel towards Slovenia, and visit Postojna, one of the biggest cave sites in the world. After this, you will explore Bled, a gorgeous postcard town situated on the shores of a lake. In the middle, there is an islet where the bell tower of a monastery stands out at the foot of a medieval castle. Head on a boat trip around Bled Lake and pay a visit to the monastery on the islet. Upon arrival in Ljubljana, Slovenias capital city, you will head on a tour with a local guide through this beautiful Central European city. Dinner will be included in the evening.

Day 10: Ljubljana – Maribor – Zagreb (B/-/D)
