Garden Route Splendour tour is an amazing expedition that takes you along the breathtaking southern coast of South Africa. Starting from Port Elizabeth, the journey heads west through the indigenous Tsitsikamma forest to reach Knysna. In Knysna, you'll have a whole day to appreciate the charm of the town and its lagoon before continuing to Oudtshoorn, known for the impressive Cango Caves. The itinerary also includes a stop at the seaside village of Hermanus, where, from July to November, you might catch a glimpse of whales offshore. Finally, the tour concludes in the beautiful city of Cape Town.

Day 1: Johannesburg Arrival
Welcome to South Africa! Upon arrival at Johannesburg Airport, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Spend the rest of the day at leisure or perhaps join the following city tour:

Day 2: Johannesburg - Port Elizabeth – Knysna (B/-/D)
After breakfast at the hotel, ride the shuttle back to the airport where you will board your flight to Port Elizabeth and head westwards to explore the magnificent beauty of the indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest. Visit the spectacularly beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park and Storms River Mouth (weather permitting). Arrive at your hotel in Knysna, known as the oyster box of South Africa, nestling on the banks of a beautiful lagoon in the heart of the Garden Route. Upon arrival, the rest of the afternoon is at leisure to relax or explore the town on your own.

Day 3: Knysna (B/L/-)
After breakfast, this morning you will enjoy a cruise on the vast Knysna Lagoon and visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy an amazing view of the imposing sandstone ‘Heads which guard the sea entrance to Knysnas huge tidal lagoon, and the forests, marshes, and pristine beaches beyond. After lunch, the remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy this lovely and special town.

Day 4: Knysna – Oudtshoorn (B/L/-)
This morning you can head underground for a fascinating tour of the Cango Caves, one of South Africas most incredible natural wonders and enjoy the wonderful views of the spectacular Outeniqua Pass en route to Oudtshoorn, the ‘feather capital of the world, so named because its the centre of South Africas ostrich industry. After lunch, which features Ostrich Steak on the menu, we learn more about these hardy, enigmatic creatures during a tour of an ostrich farm. You will arrive at the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Oudtshoorn – Capetown (B/-/-)
After breakfast, the journey continues through the ‘Little Karoo to Barrydale, where you will have the opportunity to visit a local farm school, interact with the children and teachers, spending time with them in the classroom learning more about the local farming community, before travelling to Montagu, a picturesque and historic spa town. (The school visit is subject to the school being open). Continue to Franschhoek, a picturesque village surrounded by spectacular vineyards, where French Huguenots settled more than 300 years ago, bringing with them their age-old French wine and food culture. From here you will be transferred to Cape Town, spectacularly set at the foot of Table Mountain, where the tour ends on arrival.

Day 6: Cape Town (B/-/-)
Spend your morning at leisure. This afternoon you will be transferred back to Cape Town International Airport for your overnight flight home.

Yes, but only in case it was previously agreed by both sides and arranged by us.

What documents will I receive before I travel?

If I need one, who is responsible to obtain my visa?
You are responsible for obtaining the proper travel documents for the destinations on your itinerary, including having a passport that is valid for at least 6 months before the date of departure and a visa if required. What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
