Welcome to Australia! Upon arrival at the Melbourne International Airport, you will pick up your car to start your self-drive journey. Leave Melbourne, cross the West Gate Bridge and take the Princes Highway to Geelong, the largest provincial city in Victoria. Continue travel to Torquay, the start of the Great Ocean Road, and recognised as the surfing capital of Australia. Stop at the nearby famous Bells Beach or explore the beautiful Erskine Falls or visit the Australian National Surfing Museum. The scenic coastline from Lorne to Apollo Bay has been described as one of the most beautiful and breathtaking drives in the world. Arrive Apollo Bay to check in and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 2: Sun Apollo Bay – Warrnambool (160 Kms Approx)

The tryst with the Great Ocean Road continues today, travel this morning through the Otway National Park, it covers rugged coastland, beaches, and the mountains of the Otway Ranges. Waterfalls dot the park, including the 3 cascades of Triplet Falls.
As the road joins the coast again, witness the amazing rock formations of the Twelve Apostles, which are huge stone pillars sticking out of the surf, carved over time by the crashing waves of the Southern Ocean. Travelling on past Port Campbell you will see London Bridge, the broken arch. As you drive further, the ‘Shipwreck Coast begins, from Port Campbell and onto Warrnambool. Arrive and check in at the hotel.

Day 3: Mon Warrnambool – Halls Gap (164 Kms Approx)

Travel via Penhurst to Dunkeld, and then from Dunkeld a scenic drive will take you through the Grampians National Park presenting the scenic backdrop of sandstone mountains, wildflowers and a chance to see the wildlife including echidnas and wallabies as you arrive Halls Gap. Highlights within the Grampians include McKenzie Falls, Reids Lookout and the Balconies, and there are walks of varying length and difficulties to reach some of these points.

Explore the spectacular scenery offered by the Grampians National Park, you can take one of the many walks in the wonderland area, home to “The Grand Canyon” on the “Wonderland Loop”. You can also visit Australia's longest running Aboriginal cultural centre, Brambuk, located within the town. The Halls Gap Zoo is located nearby.

Day 5: Wed Halls Gap – Mount Gambier (230 Kms Approx)

Drive back from Halls Gap to Dunkeld and travel further through the towns of Hamilton, Coleraine, Casterton before reaching Mt Gambier, the most important city of The Limestone Coast. The area is known for its diverse landscapes including volcanic craters, lakes, limestone caves, sinkholes, underground aquifers and stunning Cenotes. You can visit the Blue Lake, one of the four crater lakes, it is known for its annual change of color, during December to March, the lake turns to a vibrant cobalt blue colour, returning to a colder steel grey colour for April to November. You may also visit Valley Lake wildlife park apart from caves such as Umpherston Sinkhole and cave gardens.

Day 6: Thu Mount Gambier – Victor Harbour (468 Kms Approx)

This morning head west along the Princes Highway until you reach the coast, travel along the Coorong National Park, skirting Lake Albert and Lake Alexandria. Just before the town of Tailem Bend detour southeast towards the Fleurieu Peninsula to arrive Victor Harbour, surrounded by stunning beaches, islands, rocky cliffs, granite boulders, rivers and fertile farm land, it offers an amazing range of activities and adventures. Take a dip at one of the quiet sandy beaches, hike the rugged clifftop for the views, sample delicious local seafood or see the oceans gentle giants with whales, dolphins and seals frequenting the bay. Your visit to Victor Harbour is incomplete without a ride on its iconic horse-drawn tram to journey across the causeway and explore Granite Island.

Day 7: Fri Victor Harbour – Kangaroo Island (80 Kms Approx)

From here it is approximately two hours drive directly back to Adelaide, if time permits, stop along the way to explore more of the Fleurieu Peninsula. Arrive Adelaide airport, drop your car and take the flight back home.

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
