Day 1: Dubrovnik Arrival

Welcome to Dubrovnik! This historic city is often referred to as the \"Pearl of the Adriatic\" and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. Upon arrival at Dubrovnik International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Overnight in Dubrovnik

Day 2: Dubrovnik (B/-/-)

Today, Dubrovnik is the proudest feather in Croatias tourist cap. It is an elite destination and one of the most beautiful towns in the Mediterranean. The old city is encompassed by medieval walls, which have been preserved in their original form. Dubrovnik was known as the Republic of Ragusa in the Middle Ages and became the only Adriatic city-state to rival Venice. Supported by skilled diplomacy and wealth, the city developed at a remarkable pace — particularly during the 15th and 16th centuries. This morning you will head on a tour with your local guide. The remainder of the day will be spent at leisure.

Overnight in Dubrovnik

Day 3: Dubrovnik - Mostar - Split (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will depart for Split. En route, visit Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, recently listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mostar is on the banks of the River Neretva and is undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Tour the elegant Bridge on foot, Old Bazaar, and the Mosque. During the 1990s conflict, most of the historic town and the Old Bridge, designed by renowned architect Sinan, were destroyed. The Old Bridge was recently rebuilt and many of the edifices in the Old Town have been restored or rebuilt with the contribution of an international scientific committee established by UNESCO. The Old Bridge area, with its pre-Ottoman, eastern Ottoman, Mediterranean, and Western European architectural features, is an outstanding example of a multicultural urban settlement. The historic town of Mostar, spanning a deep valley of the Neretva River, developed in the 15th and 16th centuries as an Ottoman frontier town, and during the Austro-Hungarian period in the 19th and 20th centuries. Later, you will drive to Split to check in at your hotel.

Overnight in Split

Day 4: Split - Trogir - Split (B/-/-)

Today you will visit two World Heritage sites: Split and Trogir. Split is a town of ancient history, built and preserved over 1700 years by its loving inhabitants. During your walking city tour, you will explore the UNESCO-listed Diocletians Palace with its Peristyle, Temple of Jupiter, and Cathedral. Diocletian Palace is one of the most significant original structures of late ancient architecture, a sort of Imperial Palace. From there you will visit Trogir, a pearl-like town in the heart of Dalmatia. Here you will see the influence of the Roman Empire in the walls of the Cathedral of St. Lawrence; a Roman Catholic triple-naved basilica constructed in Romanesque-Gothic style. In the afternoon you will return to Split.

Overnight in Split

Day 5: Split - Zadar - Plitvice (B/-/-)

Depart for Zadar, one of the most beautiful historic cities of Dalmatia. This city has been the center of this Adriatic region since Roman times, and today it is a city with rich cultural heritage found on every corner. Enjoy free time to explore the city before you depart for Plitvice.

Overnight in Plitvice

Day 6: Plitvice - Opatija (B/-/-)

This morning, depart for Plitvice Lakes National Park, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. There are 16 interlinked lakes between Mala Kapela Mountain and Pljesevica Mountain. The lake system is divided into the upper and lower lakes. The upper lakes are separated by dolomite barriers, which grow with the formation of travertine, forming thus travertine barriers.  The lower lakes were formed by the crumbling and caving-in of the vaults above subterranean cavities, through which water of the upper lakes disappeared. From there you will depart for Opatija, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Adriatic. Known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic” and “Queen of Tourism”, this little town offers the largest number of hotels in relation to population! Enjoy a breathtaking tour of the city with the services of a local guide.

Overnight in Opatija

Day 7: Opatija - Rovinj - Pula - Opatija (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will depart for a full-day excursion to the peninsula of Istra. Our first stop will be in Rovinj. Rovinj is a charming, picturesque town and one of the most romantic places in the Mediterranean! It was originally an island until 250 years ago when the narrow channel which separated it from the mainland was filled in. This city is delightfully pretty and lively with its wide range of cafes, restaurants, and galleries. Depart from Rovinj and travel to Pula, a 3000-year-old town, home to a famous Roman Amphitheater and underground chambers, city gates and walls, Triumphal arch of Sergians, Roman Forum, Roman mosaic, and Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin.

Overnight in Opatija

Day 8: Opatija - Ljubljana (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will drive to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia and home to one of the oldest Philharmonics in the world. Explore the baroque town buildings and stroll alongside the majestic Ljubljana River which flows through the center of town. Many bridges cross the river; the most famous is Tromostovje (Triple Bridge). Baroque and art-nouveau have marked this exceptional city, together with new, modern architectural styles. The Old Town is the main attraction of the city. It was built on a hill as a fortress, from which you will see Ljubljana and its magnificent surroundings.

Overnight in Ljubljana

Day 9: Ljubljana - Bled - Bohinj - Ljubljana (B/-/-)

Today, you may enjoy a full-day tour of Bled with its mountainous surroundings, stunning topography, and the breathtaking Bohinj area. Lake Bled, together with its surroundings, ranks among the most beautiful Alpine resorts. Visit the Old Town and castle with a local guide before you continue to the nearby Lake Bohinj.

Overnight in Ljubljana

Day 10: Ljubljana - Zagreb (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will travel to Zagreb. This historic city is rich with gorgeous greenery, famous for its parks and well-preserved natural environment. Your tour of Zagreb will guide you through the rich history of this fascinating city. In the historic Upper Town, you will discover St. Marks Church, with its famous multi-coloured mosaic-tiled roof, on the square where the Croatian Parliament and seat of Government are located. You will also pass by the University and the citys gothic Cathedral with the fountain in front, sculpted by the world-famous sculptor Ivan Meštrović. You cannot miss the Croatian National Theatre, housed in the present-day Old City Hall and home to Zagrebs drama, opera, and ballet productions. Here is a perfect example of the citys diversity: it is not only a cultural and historical landmark but also a favourite hang-out spot for skateboarders!

Booked Mystical Egypt tour with them visiting Cairo and a 03 Nights Cruise from Luxor to Aswan in May. All services were perfect since the time we arrived at the airport, we were met by a hospitable Indus Representative who helped us with the purchase of local SIM and currency exchange. He was always there in time to assist for transfers. The Amwaj Cruise which we took from Luxor to Aswan was a Gem. We had great guides and all sightseeing worked like a clockwork. We enjoyed visiting Karnak Temples, Temples of Edfu, Kom Ombo and the boat ride to see Phillae Temple. Evening entertainment on cruise were great and engaging. In Cairo and Aswan, we had ample leisure time to explore on own, the Pyramids were impressive and visiting Khan e Khalili was fun. Overall and impressive and enjoyable tour, Thanks to Indus Travels!

Indus Travel runs a highly professional organization. From customer service to brochures, bookings, tour guides, etc. and the consideration for their customers is superb. This was the first time I had travelled with Indus Travels. We took the Taste of Portugal Tour. Group numbers are small, accommodation comfortable and food excellent. The expert guide who accompanied us was outstanding - passionate, informative, engaging, and entertaining. This company is obviously at the heart of the itinerary planning, and attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a fun, relaxed, educational vacation with fine food - they will deliver! We will never forget this trip and we are already planning for another one to Wonders of Italy, Vienna, Budapest, and Prague.

We were looking for a customized, small group tour. We took a chance on Indus without knowing much about the company. We just returned from our trip to Greece and are more than highly please and satisfied with our experience. They planned an amazing itinerary, booked amazing hotels, hired knowledgeable tour guides and arranged high quality transportation services. Everyone went above and beyond to please us. We are already planning a trip for next year (2024) and will definitely use Indus to do so.

07-Mar-2024

My wife and I along with three friends signed up the tour to Mexico from Indus Travel. The total 12-day Maya Culture trip really gave us opportunities to learn Mexico indigenous cultures thoroughly. We have seen a lot of ruins and pyramids, each of them has different representations and can tell the history of what was happening atthat time. We also had chances to visit the indigenous families toexperence the real Mexican people's life inthe rural area. The views of volcanoes, villages and canyons are also unforgettable. This is a small group with total 7 tourists, our driver/tour guide is a very experienced guide, he explained the history in sequence of events in and out. Most of all with 2500km driving he made us fell safe with his skills. All in all, this trip worths a 5+ star. I was so surprised that Indus Travel assigned a tour coordinator dedicated to our group, Kathlene helped a lot to make the arrangement for the whole trip and made us worry free.

13-Nov-2023

I booked a trip with Indus to South Africa and had a fabulous time! It was easy to book the trip online and any questions I had were answered very quickly by Sabine. The hotels we stayed at were very nice and in good locations. Our tours were well organized and our safari in Kruger National park was definitely a highlight. A few mornings had a bright and early start, but this allowed us to accomplish quite a lot in a day. The hotel restaurants had decent food, which was convenient if we had a longer day and didn't want to go out to eat. Overall, I was very happy with the trip and I felt the price for my tour was excellent value. I would definitely use Indus again!

11-Jul-2023

Glimpse of Egypt Quick paced tour taken after Egypt opened back up to tourists, particularly Americans. Went in November and weather was beautiful. Decent hotels and overnight Nile cruise. You will see a lot on this tour and be aware there are some early wake ups. Lots of walking but doable if you're in decent shape. Overall a fun tour with all the sites you have only seen in books!

24-May-2024

Indus has some very good tour itineraries at very competitive prices. I called with several specific questions about land only vs. air included, and they were immediately responsive, and within hours had the website description updated to assist anyone else who might have the same questions. I called again with specific questions about insurance, and the first person to answer the phone was completely knowledgeable based on past experience and gave me good advice. Four stars vs. five only because I just made the booking yesterday, and withhold one pending how this whole trip turns out two months from now.
