Tour Overview
Explore the ins and outs of one of the most beautiful regions in Germany with this 8-day train tour of Bavaria! Your journey will begin in Frankfurt, a historic yet modern city that is known for its shimmering skyscrapers, famous art galleries, and spectacular skyline. Visit the Romerberg, explore the legendary Old Town Square, and make your way through the luxurious shopping street of Goethestrasse. From there you will travel to Nuremberg, the second-largest city in Bavaria known for its imperial castle and historic walled Old Town before you make your way south to Munich. This breathtaking city is not only known as the capital of Bavaria, but it is also where the world-famous festival of Oktoberfest takes place. Pay a visit to Marienplatz Square and pass by Frauenkirche before you board the coach to Schwangau to visit the Neuschwanstein Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in the world, built by King Ludwig II in the 1870s. From there, you will make your way back to Munich and travel to Stuttgart, home to many famous car models including Mercedes Benz and Porsche, before you take the train back to Frankfurt where your tour of Bavaria will come to an end!

Day 1: Frankfurt Arrival (-/-/-)
Welcome to Germany! Upon arrival at Frankfurt International Airport, make your own way to your hotel. Afterwards, head on a private tour through Frankfurt with a knowledgeable driver-guide (2.5 hrs). Visit the magnificently restored Romerberg on the shores of the Main River, the charming “Fressgass” Alley, the old Opera, and the elegant Goethestrasse. Other highlights on this tour include the former residence of Goethe, the Paulus Church, and the breathtaking city views from the Hauptwache.
Overnight in Frankfurt
Day 2: Frankfurt – Nuremberg (B/-/-)
Today you will be transferred to the local train station, where you will board your train to Nuremberg (travel time: 2:05 hours). Upon arrival at Nuremberg Station, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon head on a 2-hour private walking tour through the historic city center. You may visit the old part of the city, where you will find the greatest amount of tourist attractions. Visit the castle, one of the most important medieval imperial palaces in the region. Its privileged vantage point offers breathtaking views of the city. The castle has served as the residence of every emperor of the Holy German Empire between 1050 and 1571.

Day 3: Nuremberg – Munich (B/-/-)
Today you will be transferred to the local train station where you will board your train to Munich, the capital of Bavaria (travel time: 1:20 hours.). Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Munich. Spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day 4: Munich (B/-/-)
Get ready for a fascinating day, as today you will uncover more than 8 centuries of history in just three hours! Munich, home to the famous Festival of Oktoberfest, is also one of the most important cities in Germany, to understand the rich history and culture of the German people. Starting at the Karlstor, you will pass by the Church of St. Michael, Marienplatz Square with the City Hall, and its famous carillon, the Frauenkirche, and many other famous attractions in the historic city center.

Day 5: Munich – Neuschwanstein – Munich (B/-/-)
Today you will hop on board the coach to visit the most famous castle in Germany – Neuschwanstein. The castle was built by Ludwig II, known as the Mad King thanks to his unique personality and eccentricities. The Bavarian king commissioned its construction between 1869 and 1886. He wanted it to resemble the medieval castles of the German knights, combined with a neo-romantic style. Neuschwanstein deeply inspired Walt Disney when he designed the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland. In the afternoon you will return to Munich.

Day 6: Munich – Stuttgart (B/-/-)
Get ready for another fascinating day in Germany as today you will be transferred to the station where you will board your train to Stuttgart (travel time: 2:15 hours). Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, head on a tour of this advanced city, known for its famous car models including Mercedes Benz and Porsche.

Day 7: Stuttgart – Frankfurt (B/-/-)
In the morning you will be transferred to the local station where you will board your train to Frankfurt (travel time: 1:35 hours). Upon arrival in this incredible city, you will make your own way to the International Airport in Frankfurt.

Yes, but only in case it was previously agreed by both sides and arranged by us.

What documents will I receive before I travel?
Our e-document package includes all local contact details, daily itinerary, airline e-ticket information, service vouchers, and travel tips which should be everything you require to go on your trip.

If I need one, who is responsible to obtain my visa?
You are responsible for obtaining the proper travel documents for the destinations on your itinerary, including having a passport that is valid for at least 6 months before the date of departure and a visa if required. Please check the Visa section in the Know Before You Go document for the countries you will be visiting.

Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?
No, not as standard. Solo travellers can book and occupy their own room for a supplement.

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
