Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return -11 Days

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu Airport

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you'll be greeted by the vibrant atmosphere of Nepal's capital city. After completing immigration and customs procedures, you'll be met by your guide or representative, who will transfer you to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore some of Kathmandu's cultural attractions or simply relax and acclimate to the altitude.

Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2860m) and trek to Phakding (2610m) (B/L/D) - 3-4 hours

An early morning flight from Kathmandu takes you to Lukla, a small mountain town and the gateway to the Everest region. The flight offers stunning views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest itself, weather permitting. Upon landing in Lukla, you'll meet your trekking crew and begin your journey to Phakding, a picturesque village situated along the Dudh Koshi River. The trek takes approximately 3-4 hours and offers glimpses of local Sherpa culture and traditional mountain life.

Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3446m) (B/L/D)- 6-7 hours

Today's trek takes you deeper into the heart of the Khumbu region as you ascend to Namche Bazaar, the bustling market town and unofficial capital of the Sherpa people. The trail winds its way along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, passing through dense forests and crossing suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. Upon reaching Namche Bazaar, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of Everest and the surrounding peaks, as well as opportunities to explore the vibrant markets and local monasteries.

Day 04: Acclimatization Day - Visit Khumjung Village, Hotel Everest View (3880m) (B/L/D)

To aid acclimatization and prevent altitude sickness, today is reserved for exploration and relaxation in Namche Bazaar. You'll have the option to embark on a scenic hike to Khumjung Village, where you can visit the famous Hillary School and the Khumjung Monastery, home to the purported scalp of a Yeti. Alternatively, you can hike to the Hotel Everest View, situated at an elevation of 3880m, for panoramic views of Everest and its neighboring peaks. In the evening, you'll return to Namche Bazaar for another night of rest and acclimatization.

Day 05: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m)  (B/L/D) - 5-6 hours

Leaving Namche Bazaar behind, you'll continue your journey towards Everest Base Camp, ascending gradually through rhododendron forests and past traditional Sherpa villages. The trail offers stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam as you make your way to Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery. Perched on a hilltop, the monastery is one of the most important in the region and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Day 06: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4360m) (B/L/D) - 5-6 hours

Today's trek takes you deeper into the Himalayas as you ascend to Dingboche, a picturesque village nestled amidst towering peaks. The trail passes through alpine meadows and yak grazing pastures, offering opportunities to spot wildlife such as Himalayan tahrs and pheasants. Upon reaching Dingboche, you'll be greeted by stunning views of Island Peak and Ama Dablam, with the towering summit of Everest looming in the distance.

Day 07: Acclimatization day in Dingboche (4360m) (B/L/D)

Another day of acclimatization is essential for adjusting to the higher altitude and reducing the risk of altitude sickness. You'll have the option to explore the surrounding area, hike to nearby viewpoints for panoramic views of the Himalayas, or simply relax and soak in the natural beauty of Dingboche. It's important to stay hydrated and listen to your body's signals as you acclimate to the thin mountain air.

Day 08: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m) (B/L/D) - 5-6 hours

Continuing your journey towards Everest Base Camp, you'll ascend further into the Khumbu Valley, passing through barren landscapes and glacial moraines. The trail offers stunning views of towering peaks such as Nuptse and Pumori as you make your way to Lobuche, a small settlement situated at the foot of the Khumbu Glacier. Despite the challenging terrain and high altitude, the breathtaking scenery makes the trek well worth the effort.

Day 09: Trek from Lobuche to EBC (5360m) to Gorakshep (5160m) (B/L/D)- 6-7 hours

Today marks the highlight of your trek as you journey to Everest Base Camp, the starting point for expeditions to the world's highest peak. The trail follows the Khumbu Glacier, passing through rocky terrain and ice formations before reaching Base Camp itself. Here, you'll be surrounded by towering mountains and fluttering prayer flags, with the majestic summit of Everest towering overhead. After soaking in the awe-inspiring scenery and capturing memories to last a lifetime, you'll retrace your steps to Gorakshep, where you'll spend the night amidst the rugged beauty of the Himalayas.

Day 10: Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (5545m) then fly back to Kathmandu by Heli - 3-4 hours (B/D)

Before dawn, you'll embark on a pre-dawn hike to Kalapatthar, a rocky hilltop located above Gorakshep. From the summit of Kalapatthar, you'll be treated to panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse glowing in the early morning light. After soaking in the sunrise spectacle and capturing some final photos, you'll descend back to Gorakshep for breakfast. Following breakfast, you'll board a helicopter for a scenic flight back to Kathmandu, offering a bird's-eye view of the Himalayas and a thrilling conclusion to your Everest Base Camp adventure.

Day 11: Departure to Airport (B)

On your final day in Nepal, you'll have some free time to relax or explore Kathmandu before transferring to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey. As you bid farewell to the majestic peaks of the Himalayas, you'll carry with you cherished memories of your Everest Base Camp trekking adventure and the warm hospitality of the Nepalese people.
