Then, transfer to the Bedouin camp area and get ready for a night of camping under the stars in the Wadi Rum desert!
Tour the famous Red Rose City of Petra: Embark on a guided tour of Petra with free time. Back in 300 BC, Petra was the capital of the prosperous Nabatean Kingdom. Swiss explorer Jean Louis Burckhardt famously wrote about it in his diary. “It's one of the most elegant remains of antiquity existing.” He penned this when he discovered the site in 1812. It's easy to see why - Petra is simply breathtaking. It is also known as the 'Red Rose City' due to the colour of the stone from which it was carved. However, the site is best known for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system.
Sleep in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum: Sleep under the stars and experience the magic of the Wadi Rum desert with a night in a private, Bedouin-style camp. The nomadic tribes and clans of the Middle Eastern deserts are known as Bedouins. It’s in this very desert where Lawrence of Arabia fought alongside the Bedouins against the Ottoman Empire during WWI.

Next, drive to Mount Nebo, an elevated ridge of the Abarim in Jordan, approximately 710 metres above sea level. It is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land. After exploring Mount Nebo, head to the famous Dead Sea for lunch, a swim (or float!) and time to relax by these iconic, salty waters. At the end of the day, return to Amman for dinner. Overnight at your hotel.
Explore Mount Nebo: According to the Old Testament, Mount Nebo is where Moses lived out his final days and saw the promised land. For this reason, Mount Nebo is a religious site of great importance. It also acts as a fantastic viewing platform from which to gain sweeping views of the Dead Sea and even Jerusalem on a clear day!
Step into the Dead Sea: The Dead Sea is actually not a sea at all, but a lake, around 30% of which is made up with salt. It is also the lowest place on earth, at 417 feet below sea level. The water's properties are said to cure various skin conditions. It may also relieve respiratory ailments. The lake's mud is used in spa treatments at the hotels along its shore. Please note: Entrance fee applies.
