A journey to discover the state of Bahia. You will start your trip in Salvador, one of the oldest cities in Brazil. Salvador is known for its rich culture, hospitable premises and relaxed atmosphere. On this trip to Brazil, you will explore the Chapada Diamantina National Park, located in the heart of the state of Bahia. Weather and best travel time in the Chapada Diamantina: The rainiest travel time in the Chapada Diamantina falls in the Brazilian winter from May to August. The temperatures during this time are between 24 and 27 degrees, a bit lower than in the rainy season. It is a little rainier from November to March in the rainy season with an average of 26 to 28 degrees and the rain usually comes in the morning and in the late afternoon, although trekking travelers can expect many sunny days during this time as well.

Day 1 : Welcome To Salvador!

Highlights of the area include its lovely beaches and ocean views, its 17th-century fort, São Joaquim craft market, and its array of fascinating museums.

Day 2 : Take A Historic Tour Of Salvador

You can feel all this local cultural force on our city tour, especially in Pelourinho which is part of the historical center of the city which is now a World Heritage Site and is the highlight of the tour.
After breakfast, learn how Brazil's first capital came to be on this amazing historical tour of Salvador. The route begins at the Fort of Santo Antônio da Barra, where the beautiful Farol da Barra is located, the starting point of the most popular route of the Carnival. We continue towards the Historic Center and Pelourinho for a pleasant stroll through the World Heritage Site. Visit beautiful churches, museums, the house and the Jorge Amado Foundation and the Lacerda elevator with a privileged view of the Bay of All Saints.

Day 3 : Off To The Chapada Diamantina

After breakfast depart by private transfer to Igatu.
The village of Igatu is famous for its unique architecture, all made from rock blocks that abound in the region made famous by diamond mining.

Visitors can explore the Casa de Cultura Afranio Peixoto, a museum in honor of a famous local writer. You may also visit the whitewashed Senhor dos Passos Church and explore the Praça Otaviano Alves and Praça Horacio de Matos squares in the town center.

Day 4 : Buracão Waterfall

From Igatu we head to Ibicoara to visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Chapada Diamantina, the Buracão Waterfall. In Ibicoara, we cross the dirt road through Campo Redondo to the beginning of the trail.
The walk goes flat along the banks of the Rio Espalhado, where we are already surprised by the beauty of the Cachoeira das OrquÃdeas
which is at the beginning of the descent that leads to the Buracão canyon, one of the most beautiful places on the tour, where we will swim floating with the vests or through the rocks to the waterfall.
After swimming and taking photos, we return along the trail to enjoy the view from the top of the waterfall. Stop for a snack and return along same trail.

Day 5 : Poço Encantado And Poço Azul
Location: Lençóis, Mucugê

In the morning we drive to Poço Encantado, one of the most impressive attractions in the region. An immense natural cave of turquoise water inside a limestone cave. A ray of sunlight travels through the well to the bottom through a shaft of light, 60 meters deep.
Afterwards, we head to Poço Azul, where we will float inside the cave and then have a well-deserved lunch of typical foods.Â
Return to Lençóis in the late afternoon.

Day 6 : Caves And Morro Pai Inacio
Location: Lençóis

In the morning we drive from Lençóis in the direction of Iraquara to visit the Gruta da Pratinha. The perfect place for a swim in the crystal clear waters of the Pratinha River and where we visit the Gruta Azul, enjoying the natural beauty of the place at that time.Â
The attraction also offers snorkeling inside the cave and zip-lining (optional).
In the afternoon, delicious lunch of typical foods before continuing to the Gruta da Lapa Doce. The Iraquara region is famous for its limestone subsoil, which has allowed the formation of countless caves and caverns with very rare rock formations. With the help of a local guide, we will cross the Gruta da Lapa Doce and discover stalactites, stalagmites, speleothems, columns and their formation processes dating back millions of years.
We end the day with an impressive view from the top of Pai Inácio Hill and return to Lençóis in the late afternoon.

Day 7 : Take A Boat To Morro De São Paulo
Location: Lençóis, Morro de São Paulo

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the port to take the fast boat to Morro de São Paulo.
There are no cars in Morro de São Paulo so you will walk to your hotel.

Bahia Negra
The tour is perfect for those people who have an interest and desire to immerse themselves a little more in the culture and religion of African origin called Candomblé. We start the tour by visiting a percussion workshop, where we will meet the master of rhythms who will introduce us to the famous atabaques, rum, rumpi and lê that are musical instruments usually played in camdomblé ceremonies . We will experience and learn the beat of the drums and the African and Brazilian rhythms that enchants visitors from around the world in a truly immersive musical experience. Right after, we will meet the capoeira master, where we will exchange some information and learn a little more about this art that was brought by the slaves and that today represents so much the local culture worldwide. The next part will be to enjoy the dance to the sound of the berimbau . In this class, you will learn the swing and some of the main movements used in the most traditional cultural manifestation of Bahia, Capoeira. It will be a time of learning and a lot of relaxation. Then, we will use the public transport to go to the largest and most traditional fair in Salvador, the “Feira de São Joaquim”. An exotic and unique fair, a wonderful place to have a real interaction with the local people and taste the spices and secrets of the local culture and observe the immense variety of stalls aimed at African Cults. We will end our tour once again using public transport that will take us from the Fair to the Lacerda Elevator, where we will go up to the Historic Center.

Salvador Panoramic tour
You will be attracted by the extraordinary architectonical and historical herance of Salvador in this guided city tour half-day long. Salvador de Bahía, known as "city of joy" is considered as the cultural, religious and sport capital of Brasil. Your trip will start from the Dique Tororó, where you will have the possibility to examine the sculptures of Orixás created by the bahian artist Tati Moreno. Moreover, the famous stadium Fonte Nova is set in the same place. After that, you will go forward to the low city, with a stop at the famous church of Nosso Senhor do Bomfim of the 18th century. The monte Serrat Fort, one of the best examples of militar architecture in Brazil, offers a breath taking panoramic view of the city. A stop at the Model Market is planned, a craft market where you can search and buy souvenirs. Your trip ends with the visit to the Lacerda Elevator, built to connect the Financial Centre of Salvador with the port and the market.
