During this safari, you will visit the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in the heart of Africa in the corner of southwest Uganda nestled between Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. You will also visit chimpanzees in Kibale National Park. Kibale National Park is found in the western and best known for its population of habituated chimpanzees.

Day 1 : To Kibale National Park With A Stopover At Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Cultural Caves:
Location: Kibale National Park, Amabeere Caves

On this day, you will have your breakfast at leisure and embark on a drive to Kibale National park with several stops along the way for beautiful scenery, landscape viewing among others before reaching Fort Portal town for your lunch.
After lunch, you will go for stalagmites, Crater lakes, birds viewing, Hill climbing among others at Amabereganyinamwiru cultural caves in Nyakasura, Fort Portal before checking in to Kibale Forest Camp for your relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Your stay in Kibale Forest Camp for the next two nights will offer you a unique jungle experience. You will get absorbed by forest smells and sounds, spot primates swinging through the trees and observe rare birds and beautiful butterflies fluttering around. The elegant tented camp is located in a patch of evergreen forest which borders the Magombe swamp and is a mere 10-min drive to where your chimp tracking will start.

Day 2 : Chimpanzees Tracking & Visit To Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary:
Location: Kibale National Park, Bigodi Community Walk - BICOWA

On this day, you will wake up early and have breakfast before moving to Kibale National Park for Chimpanzees Tracking experience where you will have the opportunity to follow an experienced guide into the forest to observe these fascinating creatures at a close range. Watching them interact with each other and go about their daily routine of grooming, playing and foraging is an incredible experience. While your chances of encountering chimpanzees are high during your tracking excursion, it is never 100% guaranteed. These are, after all, wild animals with wills and minds of their own!
In the afternoon after your lunch, you can choose whether you would like to go for Community walk or go deeper into the forest on a Swamp Walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary; home to 8 primate species, over 200 bird species, butterflies and various reptiles before returning to Kibale Forest Camp for your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 : To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park:

On this day, you will wake up early and have your breakfast then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park while enjoying a scenic drive that allows you to view the beautiful and varied country side. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in the southwestern part of Uganda on the rim of the Rift Valley. More notably, this “impenetrable forest” protects a predictable 320 population of mountain gorillas — approximately half of the population in the world, among which are a number of habituated groups, that can be tracked by visitors. Bwindi is habitat to more than half the world’s population of Mountain Gorillas.
You will arrive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening and check in to Buhoma Community Rest Camp for your dinner and overnight stay. Buhoma Community Rest Camp gives outdoor enthusiasts a taste of safari-style living and is an excellent base camp for gorilla trekking, as well as observing the many endemic bird species that inhabit the region.

Day 4 : Mountain Gorillas Tracking & Batwa Community Visit:
Location: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Lake Bunyonyi

After your breakfast, you will hike to the Park headquarters just meters from the Lodge for briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority guides before transferring to the starting point for Mountain Gorillas tracking. Your tracking experience will be an exciting, yet challenging, journey along forested slopes, tangled vines, thick vegetation & bamboo forests before you reach the territory of these gentle giants. The visit will give you a glimpse into the life of a Mountain Gorilla family & if you are lucky enough to gaze into the eyes of a Mountain Gorilla. Visiting Mountain Gorillas will take you 3 hours to a full day trek through the forest since Mountain Gorillas move from one place to another every day looking for food & water.
After Mountain Gorillas tracking, you will visit the Batwa community for them to take you through their traditions like traditional dance, beer making, setting fire among others (optional) before transferring to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Bunyonyi Overland Resort.

Day 5 : Departure:
Location: Entebbe

On this day you will enjoy your last sunrise and breakfast in this beautiful corner of Uganda before your guide drive you across the beautiful sceneries back to Entebbe and drop you off at Entebbe International Airport 3 hours before your departure time. Please make sure your flight departure is after 5 pm at the very earliest. For flights departing before 5 pm you will need an extra night in Entebbe, which we can help arrange for you at an additional cost.
