Fabulous Tour of Bhutan!

10-Dec-2020

This was honestly the best guided tour I've ever had - what a great experience! Bhutan is a beautiful, soul-refreshing, fascinating country and my guide, lhamo (Jorden), and driver, Aum Dewa, were so warm, welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. As a single female traveller, it was so lovely to have female guides and I really enjoyed spending time with both ladies. During my short stay in Bhutan, I felt that I really got to know the wonderful culture and experienced many different aspects of life there. I will be recommending this fabulous tour company to everyone I know!

Fantastic Tour of Bhutan

29-Nov-2019

We purchased this private tour and then highly customized it. We spend more or less time in certain locations and arranged our own 4-5 star hotel accommodations and air travel. Flying in to Bhutan was not as crazy as the internet suggests. Yes there were a few corners before we landed, but the landing was smooth, just like any other normal landing. Nothing special. What was special is that we passed by Mount Everest on the way. I highly suggest to arrive at the airport early and get a seat on the left hand side of the plane (facing the pilot). We had a quick stop in Kathmandu on the way, but didn’t even de-plane. We arrived in Paro and were picked up by our driver Pem, and our guide Wangchu. These were great guys! We immediately drove to Thimpu and checked in to our hotel and had dinner there. We stayed at Terma Linca Resort. During our stay, we saw/toured: Dochula Pass, Buddha point (largest sitting Buddha at 169 feet tall), Chimi Lhakhang, Punakha Dzong, Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, Paro Weekend Market, and of course we hiked up to the Tiger's Nest. We saw 3 banyan trees that were taken as saplings from the original Banyan tree (Bodi tree) that the original Buddha sat under. We also stayed at Khuru – this was only a 3 star hotel and was disappointing, and Nak-Sel Boutique Hotel and Spa which was by far our favorite. Our driver Pem and our guide Wangchu were great. We always felt safe and well taken care of. Pem is an excellent driver. Wangchu is very inquisitive and is eager to learn about other cultures. This made the trekking time go faster and was a welcome distraction.
