Day 1: Lhasa, China

Location: Lhasa

Arrival in Lhasa, airport
ailway pick-up & Free day

Today, you will be picked up at Lhasa Airport/Railway station and transferred to your accommodation where you will have time to get settled in. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure chilling in the hotel or begin your adventure by exploring the city on your own but try not to overtax yourself. The first day’s well-rest is crucial to acclimatize the high altitude. Remember to drink lots of water, eat light, and not to shower if you can help it.

Day 2: Lhasa, China

Location: Lhasa

Visit the Lhasa Suburb (B/D)

After breakfast, head towards the Drepung Monastery that was once one of the world’s largest monasteries. Drepung means "rice heap" in Tibetan, a reference to the great number of white monastic buildings that once stood on the hillside. In the afternoon, you will visit another great monastery, the Sera Monastery, meaning "wild rose" in Tibetan as the hill behind was once covered with roses. Learn more about its architecture structure and Buddhism and get the chance to see monks debating. You will then be invited to a welcome dinner to introduce you to your fellows with who you are going to travel.

Day 3: Lhasa, China

Location: Lhasa

Discover the Lhasa must-see attractions (B)

Today, you will explore the most emblematic places of the city. Start your day with the visit of the highest palace in the world, the incredible Potala Palace, with more than 3,700 meters above sea level. Reach the awesome Golden Roof and get a scenic panorama of the mountain ranges, villages, the stunning Lhasa river and the Jokhang temple. In the afternoon, discover the spiritual center of Tibet: the Jokhang temple which is the first built during the period of Sontsan Gambo in the 7th century. Marvel at the amazing architecture and watch devoted pilgrims praying before the monastery. You will find the Barkhor Street around the temple, a famous local handmade crafts market where you will be able to buy some souvenirs.

Day 4: Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse, China

Location: Shigatse

Travel to Gyantse & Shigatse (B)

Today, you will admire the natural beauties of Tibet. First, get some stunning views of the awesome deep turquoise Yamdrok Lake. You will continue your way to the spectacular Karula glacier that is below the south ridge of Mount Nojin Kangsan. Marvel at the impressive snow-capped mountains before heading towards the famous Pelkor Chode Monastery with its Gyantse Kumbum, a chorten with paintings and statues. Admire the multi-storied Kumbum Stupa with its golden dome and its unique religious statues and murals. You will overnight in Shigatse.

Day 5: Shigatse - Tingri - Everest Base Camp, China

Location: Everest Base Camp

Drive to Tingri and overnight in Everest Base Camp (B)

Today, you will have to be patient as you are going to spend 10-12 hours on the road to reach the beautiful Everest region. Indeed, you will have to face to the no-more-than-40km/hr regulation and the many road checks dotted on the way. So bring with you some snacks and lunch, and don't be worry, the ride is worth it as you will get incredible views of the snow-capped mountains. In the late afternoon, you will finally reach the Rongbuk Monastery from where you will enjoy a splendid view of Mount Everest. You will have the option to visit the Rongbuk Monastery at an extra cost (25 CNY). If it's summertime (May-Oct), you will spend the night in the Everest Camp. Otherwise, you will overnight at Rongbuk Monastery's guesthouse.

Day 6: Everest Base Camp - Shigatse, China

Location: Shigatse

See the Everest Base Camp & Return to Shigatse

This morning, head towards the Everest Tent Camp which is the further point vehicles can drive to. From there, take a shuttle bus for 4 km from where you will get an incredible view of the majestic Mount Everest. You will then spend 10-12 hours on the road for your way back to Shigatse.

Day 7: Shigatse - Lhasa, China

Location: Lhasa

Return to Lhasa (B)

This morning, we will leave the hotel at around 08:00 am as we will spend 6 hours on the road to reach Lhasa. Get the chance to see the Tashilumpo Monastery, one of the six big monasteries of Gelugpa (Tibetan buddhist school) in Tibet. Then, spend the rest of the afternoon at your leisure, chilling out or strolling in the vibrant streets of Lhasa.

The Bamba Team really made my journey one of the most memorable experiences of my life! Still so nice and supportive! They handled everything and responded to each question within a few minutes. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. Especially if you want to do a lot of activities and travel to a lot of different places without feeling rushed. They've also helped me with specific issues that weren't covered by the tour, as well as answering general questions. Thank you so much for making my journey so enjoyable!

I only have good words about our trip to Kenya. The entire experience was totally magical and I struggle to say how fantastic it was. We were fortunate enough to have a brilliant vehicle for ourselves, but we had great luck with David for our guide too. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and nice. Thank you for helping to create this fantastic safari experience. I Highly recommend this company.

Feb 20 2020

We organized a trip through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia on the hop-on, hop-off bus. It made the trip so much simpler for us as first-time travelers because we just had to send an email to arrange the bus, which avoided the hassle of looking for the best price and so on! We also had a number of tours included, they were all amazing and saved us the trouble of trying to find the best offers on our own; it also meant we got to see a lot of stuff we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I will strongly suggest and use again!

Our Bamba tour of Vietnam was fantastic. We had a lot of new experiences and all of the help we needed to make this a stress-free vacation. The well-organized accomodation and transportation were excellent. We will certainly use Bamba in the future.

Jun 25 2019

I had booked our Uyuni Salt Flats & Desert Adventure 3D/2N (Uyuni to Atacama) tour via an Australian travel agency, but they had made an error and refused to assist us or take responsibility. This was very difficult for us because we wanted to have a stress-free honeymoon. I contacted Bamba and I asked if we could talk on the phone so they made the improvements to our tour reservation that our travel agent declined to make. The quality of service was exceptional and they generously offered to us a complimentary gift because it was our honeymoon. I can't say enough good things about Bamba.
