Day 1 : Cuzco, Peru
Location: Lima
Welcome to Lima, the "City of Kings". Upon arrival to the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 : Lima, Peru
Location: Lima

Today, you will embark on an exciting city tour where you will discover Lima’s best attractions in its three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern.
Day 3 : Lima - Huacachina, Peru
Location: Huacachina

Early in the morning, you’ll take the regular bus towards the small city of Paracas and you’ll take the excursion to the Ballestas Islands. Once in Ica, our local representative will meet you and will transfer to your hotel located in the Huacachina area.
Day 4 : Huacachina, Peru
Location: Huacachina

Enjoy a free day in Huacachina. If you feel adventurous, you can practice sandboarding!
Day 5 : Huacachina - Arequipa, Peru
Location: Arequipa
Meals Included: Breakfast
In the morning, you will take your bus towards the city of Nazca. At night, you’ll take the overnight regular local bus towards the city of Arequipa.
Day 6 : Arequipa, Peru
Location: Arequipa
Arrival in Arequipa at around 7:00 am and enjoy the rest of the day free to explore the city on your own.
Day 7 : Arequipa - Colca, Peru
Location: Colca Canyon

In the morning, you will board the bus and will drive northwest following a paved road towards the “Colca Canyon”. By the afternoon you will go to swim and relax at the Hot Springs of the Colca Valley. After sunset, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 8 : Colca - Puno, Peru
Location: Puno

In the morning, you will be driving towards the “Cruz Del Condor”, a natural lookout point where we can see Condors flying over the canyon. Afterwards, you will return to the village of Chivay and will head towards the city of Puno.
Day 9 : Puno - Amantani Island, Peru

Start off your boat excursion of Lake Titicaca by visiting “The Uros Floating Islands”. Then, you continue your journey towards “Amantani Island”, where you will spend the rest of the day and the night.
Day 10 : Amantani Island - Puno, Peru
Location: Puno
Meals Included: Breakfast
After breakfast, you will have to say goodbye to your local family and go down to the harbor to board the boat again and head to Taquile Island. Then travel back to Puno by boat.
Day 11 : Puno - Cuzco, Peru
Location: Cuzco
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch
Today you’ll travel to Cuzco on an especial bus service that stops along the way, showing you the highlights of this road. Once in Cuzco, you will have a pre-departure briefing in the afternoon.
Day 12 : Cuzco - Aguas Calientes, Peru
Location: Aguas Calientes
Meals Included: Lunch
We will travel out of Cuzco towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas and make some stopes at Corao, Pisac, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. Then, board the train heading for Aguas Calientes.
Day 13 : Aguas Calientes - Cuzco, Peru

Take an early bus to Machu Picchu to enter the site as it opens. Your guide will meet you for a guided visit to the archaeological site. Then, take the return train back to Ollantaytambo and bus to Cuzco late in the day.

On the Ballestas Islands excursion, you can expect to see over 200 types of migratory and resident birds, including Peruvian Pelicans, Belcher’s gulls, Humboldt penguins, guanay cormorants, red-legged cormorants, Inca terns, Peruvian boobies, and turkey vultures. Additionally, you will see hundreds of sea lions and the shy Humboldt penguins.

You will stop at the highest point of the trip, 'The Lookout Point of the Andes,' and visit the village of Chivay. In the afternoon, you can swim and relax at the Hot Springs of the Colca Valley.

What is the accommodation like on Amantani Island?
On Amantani Island, you will stay in a mud brick house with beds and many blankets. The accommodation is very basic with shared drop-toilets and no showers.

The guided visit to Machu Picchu includes an early bus ride to the site, a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, and plenty of free time to explore on your own. You also have the option to climb Huayna Picchu or walk to the Inti Punku (Sun Gate) for panoramic views.

Is there an age limit?
No! Most of our bamba travellers fall between the ages of 18 - 35, but everyone is young at heart and welcome to come experience the world with us! If you are between the ages of 18 and 118, we invite you to travel with bamba and have the time of your life! Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Who will be my travelling companions on the tour?
Most of our trips cater to the adventurous independent traveller. In fact, many of our travellers arrive on their own and quickly find that they easily meet like-minded people along the way at their hostels, on transportation, or during activities.

Do I need travel insurance?
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip, especially when travelling in developing countries. Bamba does not include travel insurance of any type.Your current medical insurance may cover part of your trip, so it is important for you to become familiar with your current coverage. We recommend purchasing additional travel insurance that provides coverage for medical emergencies, emergency evacuation and repatriation, lost or stolen items and unforeseen cancellations. If you plan to participate in activities such as white-water rafting, trekking, sand-buggy rides, etc please make sure they are included in your policy.
