Tour Overview

Lumba Samba trek is one of the newest trekking routes identified and explored by Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) in 2012. A20-member team, including support staff, led by Rana Bahadur Khadka,1st vice president of TAAN,explored the route in April. Lumba Samba Peak (5200m) is the major attraction of this route. Offering some of the most spectacular Himalayan landscapes, this trekking route is home to different ethnic groups like the Limbus, Sherpas, Rai, Gurung, Magars, Newars and Tamangs. The trek runs through Kanchenjunga Conservation Area(KCA) in the eastern Himalaya. Trekkers can explore the traditional farming practices and see different birds and wildlife species, including the endangered snow leopard and red panda, from the route. There are a number of high Mountain lakes in Olangchung Gola. Through this route,we explore two of Nepal’s best preserved protected areas, the Kanchanjunga Conservation Area and the Makalu Barun National Park. Through the route, one can also trek to the base camps of Mt. Kanchanjunga and Mt. Makalu. Similarly, the Tamor and Arun River systems can be the other attractions for tourists. These two rivers are the majortributaries of the mighty Sapta Koshi River. The route encompasses alpine grasslands, rocky outcrops, dense temperate and sub-tropical forests, and low river valleys. Apart from natural beauty, trekkers can explore cultural heritage like monasteries, chhortens, temples and prayer walls. And to add to the flavor, the festivals of all of these people living in harmony only serve to make the native culture livelier.

Lumba Samba Pass - 18 Days

07-Nov-2019

'' I had done the Lumba Sumba pass treks with Tashi sherpa as my Guide. The fact that Lumba Sumba is an incredible remote and isolated area, we spent 2 amazing weeks, amazing views of Kanchenjunga,Makalu and Lumba Sumba high pass. It was incredible organization and local knowledge of staff at Adventure Himalayan Travels and treks and their highly qualified and experienced guide and porters. I would recommend Adventure Himalayan Travels and Treks to all and of my friends, family and anyone else considering traveling “Nepal”
